The Hero from the first Calamity, who with the aid of Guardians and the Divine Beasts fought Calamity Ganon 10 000 years before BotW.

Descendant of Mineru, he is the last one with obvious Zonai heritage (as Sheikah live about 50 years longer than Hylians in my headcanons, not as many generations have passed for them compared to the Royal family, which is why this Link looks more Zonai than what the Princess does, though I don't know yet how I want her to look). This Link in turn will be the ancestor to Purah and Impa, and while his kids and grandkids will have some of his Zonai features (e.g. slightly elongated faces/short snouts, small tails, patches of fur, etc.), the third generation after him will look like almost completely like any Hylian.

As much as I love the Hero's Aspect I kinda think it would've made more sense story-wise if he had worn a version of the Ancient Set from BotW rather than the Zonai gear from Rauru's era, as he was contemporary with the Ancient Sheikah Technology rather than the Zonai technology. Which is why my version of him has this armor, with a tiara like headpiece with a fake third eye and horns to honor the First King of Hyrule ᕕ(°▽°)ᕗ

I know I'm not the only one who noticed that the Ancient Aspect, despite having many similarities with Rauru, also had some differences - most prominently the tail and that the Aspect is digitigrade while Mineru and Rauru are tail-less plantigrades. So this was a result of me exploring not only how Zonai and Hylian/Sheikah mixed decendants might look, but how they might've looked like children. When it comes to the tails I decided that Mineru lost hers in a lab accident and that Rauru's is just hidden in his big floofy hair. And I thought it would be fun to have Zonai be digitigrade as kids and become more plantigrade as they age.

The Heroes of the First Calamity, the ones depicted on the tapestry in BotW. I also figured it would be fun to let Beam have a laser gun, as a treat (the King diagrees). And none of you can stop me from making Zelda a fat beauty 💙

Beam got his nickname because of his part in inventing the Guardians. Gloria's were chosen because her powers glowed around her just like a gloria on the battlefield.

More doodles of the boi! Experimented a bit with his face tattoos and this was what I ended up with. The original ones are good, but they just look weird when I try them and even more so when combined it with the Ancient Set, so I went with a more classic Sheikah style.

Not sure yet what nickname I want to give him though. Tenner? Cal? Zonny? Something else? 🤔

Edit: I have decided his nickname will be Beam, because it's the Guardians' main attack mode and he was involved in developing them.
