seriously!!! I’d forgotten how RUDE some people could be since for the most part everyone’s just been really amazing. but looking back I always got some variation of these same kind of messages with nearly every fic like:

“I want to see you ship x&y and include character Z and then character Z will do this thing and then the plot will end up like that.” (3 chapters later) “ok well i guess i like your idea but i still think you should include character Z and not ship the two characters you’re shipping and ship the one I like instead” 

^^^^ and this was exactly why I used to tell people (when i was writing. BC. in the heyday) I don’t want to hear story predictions, because some people made story predictions whereas others took it as an invitation to push their ideas onto me. It’s so fucking obnoxious. 

It settled down for a while, and then i forgot how bad this could get, and then it kind of reared its head back around when i was writing Demonbound because “does??? sheik have a dick??? i don’t want to read if SHE does because that’s gay and gay ships aren’t realistic”

then it settled down again when the trash took itself out BUT THEN. IT CAME BACK. 

GO WRITE YOUR OWN GODDAMN FIC YOU ENTITLED WHINY ASSHOLES

i am so sick and tired of people who ‘offer to help’ not because they really want to be helpful but because they want to a.) show off b.) use you to help feel good about themselves

please check yourself on why you’re really offering help in the first place because reasons a.) and b.) make you an asshole

popping back on here real fast because I had a proud teaching moment and I wanna brag about my students:

I threw them a really controversial gender-based differences study to write a paper on. Some of you here will know my real stance on this, but to the class I took the position of over-exaggerated institutionalized gender-binary supporter (for devil’s advocate purposes). First paper I read:

“You’re disregarding the fact that rigid gender binaries don’t paint the whole picture, and that gender fluidity must be accounted for.”

Proud of two things: 1.) They had the nerve to question me, the instructor, who holds dominion over their grades. 2.) They got to the thing I wasn’t really allowed to talk about but wanted to talk about.

I’m love this generation.

I don’t really want to talk about the election anymore, so I won’t be able to answer that ask. On a related unrelated related note:

Also I got a message before about how I had some Trump voters following me. I know you still are, because my follower count never went down after that.  I’ll say this again. Unfollow me now. Even if we used to talk on good terms (or maybe you were one of my silent followers I don’t know), as of today we are not. If you actively contributed to this situation, supporting someone who legitimized all of the hateful bigots running around in this country, I want nothing to do with you. 

Let me repeat that. By voting Trump, you legitimized all of the hateful white supremacists out there. “But I’m not one of those extremists, you can’t call me that!” I’m sorry, but when Trump won, those racist, xenophobic, sexist, homophobic assholes are just going to see that they can continue to be as disgusting as they want without repercussions. YOU contributed to that. Yes, you. And I want nothing to do with you.  

I loved this country enough to get my citizenship this year, and in the same exact year my opinions have been completely overturned and I can say that I hate it. 

I fucking hate America right now. 

I got a fucking wake up call last night on just what kind of people this country was infested with. I came to the states because I thought I could leave behind the racism, sexism, and xenophobia that also plagues my birth country. But now I’m finding out that a significant population here thinks all of that is okay, or ‘not a big deal.’ Because if they cared, this wouldn’t have happened.

If you voted for Trump, unfollow me the fuck now because I want nothing to do with you.

had a speaker come in to talk about autism and why we couldn’t find a better person i don’t know. 

first minute says that it’s likely people in the audience are on the spectrum. “good,” i think, “we need more people to realize that autism isn’t just what you see in movies like Rainman.” 

next minute tells a student asking a question “well you obviously don’t have autism so,” like you can just tell what a person with autism looks like by looking at them. 

i’m so mad. and this is coming from someone who’s supposed to be helping with autism awareness. there’s more to people with autism than their autism so why don’t we start talking about that instead.

there’s this ugly attitude some people have who think the millenial students are lazy or aren’t trying as hard as students 10 years ago BUT

they don’t want to understand that the pressures today are entirely different than pressures 10 years ago. Competition for college entry has skyrocketed, and it’s no longer the case that everyone who goes to college actually enjoys studying. 

it just frustrates me when i see other people in the same teaching position i’m in and their first attitude is “these students are grade grabbing lazy millenials who feel entitled to grades they don’t deserve” like 

Stop. You haven’t been through what these kids have had to go through.

stories where characters are like ‘i’ll do anything for family!’ is just so confusing to me because like

when i think of ‘family’ i think of people who can’t be in the same continent for five minutes without trying to kick them back across the ocean
