Miss De for the ship bias uwu

Lyria, would you believe me if I said I don't have a ship bias for Deirdre and that, even though she has a canon spouse that I often incorporate in her story / is vaguely mentioned in threads, all I want for them is to get a divorce? No hate to Naoise, but I find his and Dee's relationship to be the type that have a great impact on one another and their respective stories, especially because it's difficult to imagine their characters without the presence or influence of the other (and yes, they had their cute moments), but they don't have the type of relationship that is meant to last and simply wouldn't work out. Rather than a ship bias, what I want for her (and Naoise) when it comes to romance is closure and moving on with life.

With that said! I do have a platonic ships bias for Deirdre and interactions with her in general:

Evil and sorrowful characters because I'm obsessed with Deirdre's prophecy of 'Her name would be Deirdre, and where she went, there would be evil/sorrow.'

Non-humans and eldritch entities, especially if they're trying to pass as humans or learning to be human. Deirdre is supposed to be human, but doesn't know how to be one, so it's nice when she's not the only offputting one.

Righteous and/or rebellious characters with defined morals who would never backstab their friends.

Mentor figures.

'What the hell. Sure.'-brand of characters.

okay, look, i know that my wuwa verse is still half cooked but also! i have been thinking about them. her being a wandering knight and meeting him thus is fun of course —— tge initial tension, slowly going into collaboration, but what i also had the thought of oswald’s tacet disaster not having been random and beeing a failed threnodian emergence or fragment of leviathan’s influence leaking into that region (if any of these is possible. bc i am very behind on wuwa lore). but i also love how both of them have the theme of containment —— her sealing herself and him sealing/binding tacet entities.

𝐈𝐓  𝐖𝐀𝐒  𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐄  𝐅𝐎𝐑  𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄  𝐓𝐎  𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒    the  fatigue  that  sometimes  found  him  when  the  day  had  stretched  too  long,  rarer  still  that  he  allowed  himself  to  sit  rather  than  simply  endure  it  standing.  The  rock  beneath  him  was  cool,  solid  —  grounding  in  a  way  polished  floors  and  sterile  rooms  never  quite  were.  He  brushed  a  hand  back  through  his  hair,  pushing  the  longer  strands  from  his  eyes  with  a  faint  exhale.  It  was  getting  too  long  again.  Another  minor  thing  to  tend  to  when  time  permitted.

Time  rarely  permitted.

By  the  time  he  looked  up  at  her,  the  exhaustion  had  already  been  folded  away  into  something  neater.  Composed.  Measured.

The  horizon  stretched  before  them  in  muted  colours,  dusk  settling  in  slow  gradients  across  the  landscape.  The  wind  carried  the  distant  hum  of  the  city  behind  them  and  the  quieter  breath  of  the  wilds  ahead  —  grass  shifting,  unseen  creatures  settling  into  the  coming  dark.  The  world  did  not  pause  simply  because  he  did.

His  scarlet  eyes  traced  that  line  where  sky  met  earth,  thoughtful.

The  task  before  him  was  unfinished.  It  always  was.  There  were  threads  yet  to  follow,  marks  yet  to  understand,  truths  that  refused  to  surface  no  matter  how  patiently  he  sought  them.  No  one  truly  knew  the  extent  to  which  he  was  willing  to  go  —  and  he  preferred  it  that  way.

Still,  obligation  anchored  him.  At  sunrise,  he  would  return  to  his  duties  without  hesitation.  Patients  would  knock.  Records  would  wait.  Responsibilities  did  not  lessen  because  he  was  tired.  But  for  now,  he  allowed  the  quiet  to  settle  around  them.

The  breeze  lifted  again,  tugging  lightly  at  his  coat,  stirring  loose  strands  of  hair  across  his  temple  and  somewhere  nearby,  leaves  rustled,  and  the  faint  call  of  something  nocturnal  echoed  in  the  distance.  The  world  felt  vast  in  that  moment  —  not  oppressive,  not  demanding.  Unconcerned  with  his  own  burdens. 

He  rested  his  forearms  loosely  against  his  knees,  posture  relaxed  but  never  careless.

just kidding, you deserve even more praises simply by your love and commitment to your girl. i briefly played wuwa last summer and i am somewhat familiar with thyia, even to the point where i did pull her and her team. however, i am so behind on wuwa i never did get to finish the entirety of that update. therefore, it was really neat hearing from you and helping me catch up a bit on stuff i missed out. i enjoyed seeing thyia on screen, but i definitely enjoyed her more reading your portrayal. i love that you do not shy away from her suffering and her growth. i enjoy reading her monologue and learning her mannerism through action / gesture. she is extremely kind but also morally driven to do what is right / just.

i absolutely adore our plot, and yes i am still behind on things --- but it doesn't take away from the fact i have a better genti than xv genti. thyia is so sweet to stella and the fact she is more accessible than her own blood siblings, makes me cry. stella is so attached to her and the fact we are able to explore different parts of eos ( niflheim and altissia ) is just so lovely. the way you were able to just bring her wuwa verse over to versus means a lot and i appreciate everything that you do. you are such a fantastical writer and a major inspiration. i will never reach the 200 notes that you can do, but it is so nice to see that floating around on the dash once in awhile. you are passionate and so creative and i cannot wait to write more with you. needless to say, just seeing you on the dash is a lovely sight and i wish you luck on everything you do. i am always cheering for you !

with his position on penacony and everything that extends beyond it,   sunday is not afforded the luxury of having much free time and wonder.   the enchantment of penacony that had once dazzled him as a child has long faded.   he remembers the world was full of promise when he first arrived.   now he knows what goes on beyond the stage.   the things that never reach the daylight.   perhaps this is simply what growing up means,   or perhaps it is what seeing too much does to a person.

he does not mingle with guests often unless it is required of him as penacony's spokesperson.   meeting cartethyia had not fit that pattern in the slightest.   she had been unexpected,   but not an unwelcome change to routine.   he found himself seeking her presence during her stay.   not deliberately, of course,   not at first,   at least.   but often enough that it became difficult to deny.   then boldness crept in, and an invitation was extended.   a suggestion that there was something on penacony she might  like. 

when she arrives,   there are words unspoken ; 'i am glad to see you ' and ' i'm happy that you came. '   but they all feel too honest so he chooses something safer.     ❛❛  i hope your stay on penacony has remained pleasant,  ❜❜     polite, measured, and almost a bit too formal.   yet he is not here as a promoter of his home.     ❛❛  creating penacony belongs to the dreamweavers.   i doubt i could ever fulfil such a role,   but,  ❜❜     he says as he gestures towards a quiet place in the dreamscape.   birds fly through the air unbothered by politics or memory,   unlike himself.     ❛❛  there is no objection to trying.     you once asked me what my first impression of penacony was. ❜❜     a pause.     ❛❛  i tried to make this the home i remember.  ❜❜    a fragment of his memory was restored and shaped into something gentler and kinder.   the home he remembers and the home he longed for as a child.   then he looks at her again.     ❛❛  if i were to give you the ability to shape the memoria here,   what would you create, @fleuredelys ?  ❜❜

oswald freezes mid-motion , like a mechanism catching on a tooth it hasn’t encountered before . he turns before the sound reaches him .

she stands a short distance away , not intruding , not rushing . light gathers around her without glare , like the world has decided to look at her more closely .

his first instinct is refusal , but as oswald stands where he stopped — coat torn at the hem , gloves stained dark enough that he has stopped checking which blood is whose , his breathing steady because he has told it to be , his mind already moving forward — baskerville decides against it .
