This month’s rare find is a Flexispeed lathe. I’m guessing this is the Mk. 1 based on the following read from lathes.co.uk. It definitely isn’t the Mk. 2, as I think the last photo in the set above proves.
This model, intended to compete against the ever-popular and very cheap "Super Adept" reverted to the original 15/8" centre height but was fitted with a proper compound slide rest and a 3-step headstock pulley.
Additions
It contains a new taper cutting top cross slide, foldaway Singer electric motor with variable speed control, new three jaw self centering chuck, tailstock drilling chuck (0-3mm) and wooden base.
