This is my first attempt to mend a piece of knitting that got ripped (swipe for "before" picture). I used a contrasting yarn on purpose, so that the patch would be visible - reminiscent of Kintsugi (金継ぎ, "golden joinery"), a japanese technique of repairing (ceramic) pieces in a way that the break and repair is not hidden, but treated as part of the history of the piece. . I've written a short blog post about it: https://knitting-and-so-on.blogspot.com/2020/07/darn-it-or-kintsugi.html . #makedoandmend #mendingmayhem #mendingclothes #mending #mendingmatters #darnit #darning #visiblemending #clothingrepairs #knitwear #kintsugi #slowfashion #reducewaste #knittersofinstagram #knitwear #lovedclotheslast #makersofinstagram #clothingrepair #learnsomethingnew #flicken #reparierenstattwegwerfen #darningwoollens https://www.instagram.com/p/CDHUgmOJ87A/?igshid=155tj4vkvj1vn
