So I've had this joke in my head for a couple months (at least), but hadn't found the right spot to make it. Today it is complete.
A hole in my jeans?
Hmm? What's this?
A Patchypus?

Sweater collar mend
Thrifted this sweater for $3 and immediately ripped the back of the collar when I washed it. There are probably better and prettier ways to mend this, but I just ironed on some interfacing and secured it with a few stitches.
Current works in progress:
Tons of origami roses for the wedding
Make up bags for my bridesmaids
Painting a thrifted coat hook with folk art inspired designs
Knitting a hat for my fiancé
Lots of mends for other people that I put off
Mended corner of back pocket on my favorite jeans. They’ve since been through many many mends
A mend that I'm working on, and how you can make it artistic in a way by stitching a bit freeform.
All the stitch is, is a running stitch, but there's a lot of stitches made, to really tack down the patch. The rough side is the inside, and the one that looks a bit cleaner is the outside.
I hope this helps anyone out there with ideas on what you can do. My main tip with this technique, is keep your stitches small, and go wild with the colors.
The pants themselves are 95% cotton, and 5% spandex, and I believe the patch was the same as well just in a twill weave. The thread is 100% egyptian cotton for hand quilting or hand sewing, in variegated colors, and the needle I used was a "ballpoint" needle
The cushion of my IKEA Poäng chair was quite old and ripped. Instead of buying a new one, to mend it I appliquéd some Red and (roughly) round pieces of old tablecloth. I think I like it better than before.
