The fly is tuesday, I will go early and try to solve It but gods this has been rally bad for my anxiety
Worse comes to worse, I can pay another ticket, ( and sue then later because WTF is this bulshit?)
We're Going to Try This Again Tomorrow
I write to you from a freezing Herndon, Va., which is the suburb located next to Washington Dulles International Airport. After the six-hour wait on the runway without going anywhere, we got off the plane, took an Uber SUV to retrieve our very frightened and confused pets and are began working to rebook this adventure.
The airline made me gate check the one carry-on roller bag with a change of clothes and toiletries in them, and now it's "somewhere" at the airport with our eight other checked bags. It was an estimated four-hour wait to find them, so we're making do in our road-dusty clothes in an airport Sheraton until we can attempt to drop off the pets and board a plane again tomorrow.
Prague Adventure Day 1
Note: Due to my limited access to the wifi I will have to post my blogs a little later than the night after. So I left for Prague at 00:35 on Monday the 27th of October. Luckily I was able to purchase a ticket online from National Express to get picked up like 3 blocks from my flat to go to Luton Airport. After waiting for a while and worrying that the coach would never come, it finally came to the rescue. When i arrived at Luton Airport I was a little confused about what to do because I had never been there before. It was an interesting layout... When you walk in you are surrounded by places to eat and of course the illustrious M&S, it isn't until you walk further in that you find the check-in counters. There are screens everywhere that tell you about your flight, when/where you can check-in and when you should hear up to the departures hall. I'm guessing that because the airport is so small they don't want to over crowd security and the departures hall. So after waiting for a while until I was told to head upstairs I went through security, which was so quick. The departure hall had no gates and was pretty much just a bunch of shops... This is where the fun started. You had to look on the screens to be told when to go to the gate and when your gate was announced you ran so that you could be the first to check-in and board, no assigned seating. We waited to hard and when the doors opened everyone stampeded! I had to push my way through to get a good aisle seat. When I arrived it was midnight and I had to catch a shuttle to the hotel. When I checked in there was a mix up in the too and they told me to stay in a room that was already occupied... After figuring everything out I was able to get some sleep. The next morning I headed downstairs to get a good and free buffet breakfast and then spent the rest of the day chilling in the hotel, Using up their free wifi :) until it was time to meet Jen and Emily at the airport. However their flight was delayed... And after waiting for a while I decided to check in for us. The new hotel was really nice, and because reception was closing and there was no way for them to get in I stayed up... well kind of because I fell asleep... and let them in at 2. Then it was off to bed :)
Let's recap, shall we Southwest?
Sunday, March 25 - flight from Oakland to Denver
Leaves on time
Lands early
Have the whole exit row to myself
All good; a typical Southwest experience for me
Monday, March 26 - flight from Denver to Oakland via Orange County
Delayed boarding due to flight arriving late from where it was coming from
Delayed departure due to man seated at window in exit row being moved because he was "encroaching" into the next seat (see prior tumblr entry)
Delayed arrival into Orange County
Man whacks me with suitcase on his way off, clearly not seeing me in my seat; says sorry; flight attendant does nothing; instant headache occurs
Arrive late into Oakland then drive home with pounding headache and watery eye, almost certain I have a concussion (concussion confirmed by doctor two days later - see prior tumblr entry)
Thursday, April 5 - flight from San Jose to Orange County
Arrive at airport early since The Mother's flight was scheduled to leave an hour before mine
Receive call from Southwest while parking the car alerting me that my flight had been cancelled
Wait in line to see what my options are and get put on flight leaving 30 minutes later
Make the flight and arrive in Orange County on time
Saturday, April 7 - flight from Orange County to San Jose
Arrive at airport normal amount of early
Glance at departures board while walking to Southwest counter since I had to check my bag (long story short, I bought silverware at Downtown Disney and therefore could not bring the bag on the plane); departures board indicates that my flight is cancelled
Stand in ridiculously slow line at counter to see what my options are
Have option to get on flight leaving 20 minutes later but the bag might not have made it and the security line looked pretty long; got put on flight leaving more than two hours after original flight
Now, waiting in the airport and thinking I'll never fly into Orange County again!!
