People will really say anything, huh
Thinking about Black Sails episode 4.06 how Eleanor asks Madi, “One can be happy that way, can’t they? A life of isolation and uncertainty as long as it is lived with someone you love and who loves you back. It is possible, isn’t it?”
The fact that she says this in Miranda’s house; where Miranda was isolated, living with uncertainty, had someone she loved and who loved her back and it was STILL not enough for her to be happy (understandably so). I feel unwell. UNWELL. Every time you rewatch this show it reveals new ways to break your heart.
When you come home
I'll bake you a cake
Made of all their eyes
I wish you could see me
Dressed for the kill

Miranda to James in the early days of Nassau.
absolutely crazy 2 me that these scenes play essentially back to back. crazy show for crazy people.
Italian opera was taking its nascent flight in London circa 1705, The Loves of Ergasto (Gli Amori d'Ergasto) by Jacob Greber premiered in April, and I have to imagine that Miranda, hedonist that she is, would have assisted on attending.
I wonder what James would have made of it.
But first and before all... I was mother.
I can feel myself forgetting it and I don't want to forget it. Black Sails IV & XI
