OC-tober day 6, relationships

Following bweirdart's oc-tober prompt list!

Only took a week (maybe more), but I did it! Haven't had much time to work on these prompts as I would like, since I've been busy with class assignments (this semester has been ROUGH), but I'm slowly chipping away at it. I'll keep working on these until I'm done with all of the prompts, even after October ends. I really want to see this through, and I'm having fun doing the prompts :)

For this prompt, I wanted to show off some of the relationships Fliss (they/he) has in my story Timberfall. The first drawing is Fliss' relationship with Thora (she/they), a doctor/scientist/biologist who is helping Fliss regain their memories after having been nearly mortally wounded by some accident years ago. Thora is doing a routine check up of Fliss' vitals, and no matter how many times Thora and Fliss have done this, Fliss never gets used to being hooked up to her strange machines. (also when i was drawing it i realized a little too late that i forgot to also draw thora's wings so i had to awkwardly put them in oops)

The second drawing is Fliss' relationship with Bretta (she/he) , a large half-breed who often barges into Thora's lab to cause mischief and be a general nuisance. She's generally laid back but is always sticking her nose into things and loves seeing how far she can push others. He encourages Fliss to explore life outside of the labs, much to Thora's chagrin, and live a little. The two eventually get very close, and often take naps together or physically touching each other in some way (mostly hugs, being held, Bretta using Fliss as an arm rest, etc.) Bretta starts stopping by the labs a lot more often once Fliss wakes up, as their appearance catches his curiosity, and she very quickly wants to know more about them.

The last drawing is Fliss and Raiden's (he/him) relationship. The two are awkward and shy with each other, both obviously harboring more intimate feelings towards each other, but unsure of how to express that, and equally afraid of being rejected by the other. They also have a casual friendship thanks to Bretta dragging Fliss outside of the labs, but it starts to bloom into something more the more time they spend together. Raiden is stand-offish and guarded, not giving his trust to others until they prove he can open up to them. He's gruff and quiet, but isn't a stranger to making the occasional sarcastic comment or snide joke. But he gets very shy when it comes to being more intimate. Fliss likes hanging out with Raiden because with him, they feel like they can relax and just be themselves. Raiden also feels this way when with Fliss, but doesn't let his guard down fully due to past trauma.

Had a lot of fun drawing these, and it was also a good excuse to test out some custom brushes I have to see which ones I like drawing/sketching with. It's also nice to be drawing again in general. Haven't drawn like this in ages.
