Hihi!!! I’m very curious about bowties! (and maybe hideaway epilogue 5 🤣)
Hi!! Thank you so much for the tag! I sent an ask about your Superstore AU fic and Feeling This, but your entire list is so good, and so many of us are super excited!
Aw, thanks for the Hideaway love! I’m so behind on everything, but Hideaway Epilogue 5 is hopefully going to be a fun one. I received an ask a little while ago from a wonderful anon and from @shyfoxarbiter16 (hi!!) about the dynamic between Jin and Jimin, particularly when it comes to you/Friday. I posted a snippet here, but here’s a tiny bit more!
“Really, Jimin? We’re not past this?” Jimin sips his coffee, staring out at the unfamiliar skyline, trying to ignore Jin’s petulance. “Do you know how devastating it was?” Jin demands. “How heart-wrenching? That kind of love? Do you know what it was like? Watching her with that asshole, wondering if there could ever be a chance that it could be me instead?” Jimin doesn’t know. But it’s more that he doesn’t know why he sometimes thinks of you, out of nowhere. He could be doing anything. Shopping. Eating. Watching TV. And he just wonders about you. What your day was like. Whether you’ve eaten, too. He’s thought about it before. Starting something. Catching you in a darkened corner at an event that you’ve organized. Dropping by when Jin was away for work. He even thought of using Junior to get close to you, but every time he sees his face, it pains him to see how much he looks like you. And how much he looks like Jin.
Bowties centers around the weekend of Jungkook’s wedding, for which he’s asked his six best friends to be his groomsmen! Get ready for some shenanigans, for sure! But also, I’ve been talking at length about weddings and marriage with friends and family over the past year, especially as the pandemic has impacted people’s plans. For this fic, I wanted to delve into what marriage means to people, and I’m experimenting with writing several different points of view.
I’ve written a couple of fics (Bon Voyage, Noona; The Road to You) in which You are one character who spends some time with one member per chapter. Structurally, Bowties will be a flip of that. Each chapter will still be focused on one member, but You will be a different person in each chapter (that member’s love interest), and You’ll explore a different take on relationships and marriage as the group takes the trip to the venue, joins the rehearsal dinner, participates in the ceremony, and attends the reception. Just added it to my WIP page if you’d like to learn more! The more I talk about it the more excited and antsy I get oh no now all I want to do is write it oh no someone helpppp
