Half Marathon check in 7 of 8
There are good weeks, and there are rough weeks. I never want to think of a week being “bad” because there were many good things that happened this week.
To recap the goals for this week were 3 mi recovery, weight training twice, 4 mi interval, 3 mi temp, yoga , and a 6 mi long run, with Scuba sessions Sunday, Monday, and Saturday. The actually workouts I completed was a 2 mi recovery, the 4 mi run, yoga and the scuba session. I definitely lost my motivation to run with week.
I am proud of the runs I did. The yoga felt great, and the scuba was absolutely incredible! I cannot believe how in love I am with scuba diving. If you have ever thought about doing scuba or you love the ocean and all of its wonderful creature, you have to get certified. Not only have I been blessed by meeting the most wonderful of people through my scuba class, I have got to get up close and personal with some very cute fish and a tiny turtle. There is nothing more peaceful, than being underwater.
Even though the week may have been rough, I got to keep looking forward. Its getting hot here in the beautiful sunshine state. That means shorts weather! My goals for this week are going to keep it simple. I have a Scuba session Sunday, a yoga session Monday, maybe weights too if I can squeeze it in, 3 mi tempo run on Tuesday, Wednesday we are going to try to squeeze in weights. Thursday will be a 4 mi interval run, Friday will be more weights and yoga. Saturday is gonna be a beautiful scuba day. And then Sunday Morning will be race day. Thats it. This training plan will be over. Im excited and also sad. Then its officially going to be time to train for Honolulu. The end is in sight.
