Blue, lavender and purple colored flowers in combinations with white ones always have been a favorite of mine in the garden. Looking for inspiration in my photos taken on our trips to England I came across this gorgeous border. I wonder if it would be possible to recreate something close to it here in Austin either with the same plants or similar ones. To be able to do that though, I first need to identify the plants: the purple flowering plant in the foreground I believe to be catmint, in the background I think I see lavender colored delphinium, and the foamy, tall, delicate, white flowering plant I have no clue what it is. I have two questions for you my lovely flowers: 1. Can someone identify the white flowering plant? 2. Has anyone familiar with the Austin climate (we are in zone 8b here) any idea what I could substitute the delphinium with, , since I believe delphiniums are pretty hard to grow in Austin and no foamy, tall, white flowering plants come to my mind that would bloom here. I know though that I can grow catmint here. I have three plants in my garden that took a while to get established but now grow and flower pretty well. So that is a start! I hope that all of you who celebrate Thanksgiving had a wonderful day, yesterday! We were invited over to friends of ours and had a very lovely evening. #organicgardendreams #catmint #delphinium #gardendesign #flowerborder #centraltexasgardener #centraltexasgardening #austingardener #austingardens #austingarden #austingardening #austingardeners #englishgarden #englishgardens #gardeninspiration #englishgardeninaustin #englishgardenintexas #flowerbed #flowerbeds #flowerborders #purpleflowers #lavenderflowers #whiteflowers (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWvc4O5r_Z1/?utm_medium=tumblr
