jasmine blinks a little. she doesn’t expect robbie to say anything like that. least of all to her. so it goes without saying that her cheeks turn red before she stutters out a thank you. (although she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t happy he said it.)

it’s the flush that rises to jasmine’s cheeks that renews robbie’s confidence. he’s glad he’s had such an effect on her. he’s glad that she seems UNUSED to this kind of attention. it makes the gratitude show up clearer on her face and makes robbie feel like... well, like he’s helping her.

                    dark eyes shift curiously,   observing jasmine from a distance while he works on his homework.   there’s a sense of ANXIETY rolling off of her,   not unusual,   but unsettling for him nonetheless.   scott sets the pencil down,   then clears his throat to gently pull the girl out of her own head.     ‘ you okay? ’     he asks softly,   trying not to make it obvious just how terrible she looks right now.   he’s not rude.
