I'm going to cry. I was doing so well but my stomach reacted badly again today. I don't know what to do. I can't eat anything. I'm so tired. My body isn't recovering. I don't know what to do.

I hate that I went to a christian university and wasted so much time studying a theology I don't even care that much about, but on the other hand—when my bigoted christian nationalist family dishes out their latest bullshit it's always been fun to go, "well, ☝🏻 as the only person in this room who went to christian college and studied the bible academically and has traveled to meet christian scholars all around the world, here's why you're wrong about that."

Not that they ever listened, because their kind of religion was never about scholarship, philosophy, or reason, it's always been about patriarchy, and I wasn't a man.

A funny thing about me is that I feel like I'm lying every time I call in sick to work. Doesn't matter that I'm actually sick, or that I've literally never called in sick when I wasn't really sick. If I have to call in I feel obliged to put on a big show of being miserable. I am miserable, of course, but I learned a long time ago that if I didn't ham it up no one would believe me. I'm so used to faking it that minutes after I texted my boss, while actively feeling nauseous and aching all over, I'm sitting here thinking, "whew, another successful con boys. They bought it."
