“...AZ?”
Despite her comfort around the former king, she speaks his name with an air of uncertainty-- a strained, tense kind of voice characteristic of the heroine, yes, but not necessarily a common occurrence. She stands between the man in question and her Drifblim, who holds onto Serena’s arm akin to how a young child might grasp onto their parents’ own when faced with something that unnerves them so. A beloved member of the young woman’s team. A being whom she had encountered by sheer chance-- thanks to a breeze far too strong for a mere Drifloon to handle. A ghost-type pokemon some would brush off as one from a species known for whisking people away to the afterlife, but to Serena, is an invaluable group of partners. All of which met the same horrific and tragic fate.
“My Drifblim... They go by Rosen. They’re a collection of souls-- human and pokemon alike--, or so they’ve communicated to me. I’ve been teaching them to write and draw, you see,”
She refrains from giving reason; that the pokemon has been trying so very hard to convey something to her since their bond blossomed, but did not have the necessary tools. That is not the reason they stand here, no. Both trainer and pokemon are here for answers. Serena, to see if she interpreted the ghost-type’s messages correctly, and Rosen, to finally see the one responsible for their state after three thousand years.
“I know it seems strange to not have introduced you to them before, but they were collectively very against the idea. At first, I didn’t understand why... however... over the past few months, I’ve managed to decipher their history. And I think it is something you should know.”
