Attempt at fluff for @i-love-being-weird fluffy Saturday. I hope this counts I rushed the writing in like 26 minutes. 😬
Tim found Marinette exactly where he expected. Her dinner was barely touched and now cold on the long forgotten plate. It looked like her work was finished or very close to it. He moved it out of the way and put it in a garment bag to protect it. He didn't want to risk trying to fold it. She had spent 3 weeks working almost constantly to finish the rush piece.
He shifted her a little at a time to get her into his arms without waking her. She was a hard sleeper so it usually worked pretty well. He had changed the sheets to make the bed as cozy as possible. The hum of the washer swishing was slightly out of sync with the swooshing of the dishwasher. He had cleaned everything he could except her work space. He would love to do that to help her but he couldn't risk messing with her space.
She was still laying right where he left her when he climbed into bed too but as soon as his weight shifted the mattress she turned to him. She wasn't awake but she was seeking him in her sleep. He reached over and helped her find him. She settled against him as he pushed her hair back and kissed her head. He pulled the ribbons out of her hair and ran his fingers through it when he remembered that she said sleeping with them in would always give her a headache.
He could tell that the light peeking through the curtains was long past early morning when she startled awake against him. She hummed happily when he leaned over and kissed her head now that she was awake. Then suddenly she say straight up in bed, panicking.
"Oh no. My commission. It needs finished. It will be ruined," Marinette said.
"I took care of it, Love. It looked almost finished and you have 3 more days before it needs sent," Tim said.
"It sounds like more time than it is. There are other things to do."
"Probably. But I've done everything I can. You need to put on your fuzzy slippers and come eat the brunch I ordered to have delivered. It should be here soon."
" Oh. I love brunch food. It's my favorite."
"I know and you haven't been eating well enough so it will be even better." He interrupted himself to kiss her lips softly. "Then I also got all your favorite things for a lovely bath. You aren't allowed to do anything in your studio for at least 2 hours so you can relax."
"I can't relax until I check on that commission. You know how my brain catastrophizes."
"True. You should check it. But if you don't come right back out, I'll put a padlock on the door with a 6 hour timer."
"Tell me you didn't actually buy one."
"I did, and I'll use it if you won't take time off."
"You are the sweetest evil man in existence."
"I work hard at it just for you."
He leaned down and kissed her softly on the lips before he went to set up the food allowing her just enough time to check on her work.

Two Dorks in Love
Marinette woke up with a groan, no matter when she wakes up she can never have enough sleep. She just wanted to cuddle to her boyfriend and sleep some more.
Looking at her clock, she realised it was just 9 am. That was too earlyyyy. That also meant that Dick was not with her on their bed.
'Morning people' Marinette scoffed, why did he have to wake up so early, now she would have to go and search for him. With another groan Mari stood up and went to search for him.
It was too early for a patrol and if he was going somewhere hero related she would go with him, so that was crossed out. If he went to the manor or somewhere else, he would leave a note, so that wasn't an option either.
Looking at the mess in the kitchen and burnt utensils in the sink she realised that he had tried to cook again. Marinette sighed at the mess, he should just stick to take-out or cereal,
cooking isn't one of his skills.
But she didn't have time to think about this right now. She wanted her cuddle machine back. Mari began her search again.
Next stop was the living room. Dick likes to do his stunts and exercises there as it's the most spacious room. But, he wasn't there either.
"Maybe he is in the washroom?" Someone spoke from behind her which made Marinette jump in fear. She relaxed seeing it was just Trixx.
Of course Trixx decided to follow her. Marinette rolled her eyes. "Trixx, stop scaring me. You're the god of illusion not jump scares."
Trixx giggled "But it's fun."
"How is scaring me fun?"
Trixx giggled "At least you're not sleepy anymore." Marinette rolled her eyes again, but took Trixx's words in consideration, and went in their room again to check on her boyfriend again.
"Dicky? Are you in there?" Marinette knocked, no answer "Bluebird?" Still no answer. Opening the gate and peeking inside Marinette saw that it was empty, the wet floor being the only proof that someone was there. Only one place was left now, if he wasn't there, that means he ran away.
Marinette was now a little afraid, she is sure that he didn't abandon her and…...Marinette looked down at her stomach. Unconsciously rubbing it.
Trying to calm her mind, Marinette went to the roof to look for her boyfriend. Finally, there he was. Doing something?
Softly padding through the rooftop Marinette sneaked up to him. Hugging him from behind. Dick stopped in his tracks, before smiling softly at her.
"You weren't supposed to wake up this early Snow." Marinette snuggled her face in his back
"I knowwwww, but you weren't there and I wanted you."
"Oh?" Dick quirked an eyebrow "Really?" Marinette nodded. Slowly, Dick turned around and picked Marinette up bridal style. "You know I really had a lot of things planned for today."
Yawning Marinette snuggled into his chest. "Hmm? You did? Is today something important? Did I forget something?"
"Today would be a really special day, if you agree for it to be?"
Marinette snorted "Am I a President or something? I don't decide important days Dick."
Humming he set her down on a chair at a table which Marinette didn't even notice. Pushing her chair inside, Dick made his way to the other side.
"You hungry? Uhh I tried to cook, but you know, I am not the best at it, so take-out." He smiled sheepishly.
Marinette giggled, "please don't try to cook again. I don't want more wasted food or burnt utensils." Dick pouted in mock annoyance before laughing with her.
After finishing their food, they both stood at the balcony, Marinette in front of Dick, while he wrapped his arms around her protectively.
Dick snuggled into her neck taking in her scent while Marinette giggled. "Mari." Dick said softly
"Yeah?" Marinette asked, looking up at him.
"I have been thinking, it's been so long since we are dating, and now well, we are going to be parents soon." Marinette put her hand on her stomach and rubbed it again. "I know we haven't decided anything yet. We haven't discussed this, but we didn't even discuss that big surprise. Honestly, I don't know how it happened, but I do know that I am glad it happened." Dick smiled at her. "I do know that I only see you when I think of a person I want to spend my lifetime with. So," He got on one knee and pulled out a ring "Will you marry me?"
"Yes, yes yes. Hundred times yes." Dick slipped the ring on his girlfri- fiance's finger, as they shared a kiss. "So, that's why you were doing all these preparations huh?"
Marinette glanced back down at the picture. It made for a perfect example of her work. Stephanie looked great in the jacket. Her smile lit up her whole face. Marinette didn’t know what to do. Steph had seemed interested and flirty, but maybe that was just her personality. Marinette was reminded of her younger years when another blonde made her forget everything she wanted to say and just stammer and blush until someone took pity and changed the subject.
Steph didn’t change the subject, but she didn’t bring it up either. Marinette needed to do something. She had to find a way to get her words to say what she wanted. Maybe she could visit her in the morning and find a way to show her what she was thinking. That might be the best plan anyway. Show rather than tell. She was always better at that anyway. Who needs words; Marinette thrived on demonstration.
---
She was lucky that she had gotten a number for Steph's roommate. This would be perfect. She brought everything she needed and set it up. She had even found a waffle maker that made heart waffles. There would be no way to misinterpret her meaning. She made the batter and dropped plenty of food color drops and let it sit while she heated up the waffle iron and started the coffee. By the time the waffle iron was hot the batter was a deep purple. Marinette could hear shuffling sounds coming from Steph's bedroom as she filled the waffle iron with the batter. The sound of the shower starting should give her just enough time to set everything up.
The waffle iron beeped and Marinette pulled it out. It Looked exactly as she had hoped. She set it on a plate and gently piped small whipped cream swirls around the outside of the waffle. The light purple of the whipped cream contrasted perfectly with the darker purple of the waffle, now slightly browned. Marinette poured the coffee and fixed it just how she remembered Stephanie liked it. She could hear her coming down the hallway now.
She rushed as she remembered the strawberries and hurried to arrange them on the waffle. Hopefully it didn’t look sloppy or thrown together. She looked up and smiled as Stephanie saw her and smiled.
“Good morning, Marinette. I wasn’t expecting to see you here and making breakfast.”
“I just really wanted to see you.”
Marinette managed to get her words out without stumbling over them. But Stephanie looked at the plate. She couldn’t seem to get any words out. Marinette was waiting to see her reaction as she stared at it in silence. Maybe she didn’t like it. Marinette looked back down. It looked pretty. The purple heart waffle was cooked well and the strawberries looked bright red against it, perfectly forming the letter U.
Stephanie made eye contact with her. Marinette bit her lip and looked down when she didn’t say anything. But Stephanie stepped close to her and used her finger to tilt Marinette’s chin back up. She leaned over the plate and pressed her lips against Marinette's. She looked into her eyes as she pulled back slightly.
Jon could tell Marinette had had a very long day. She was still on maternity leave with the new baby but the older ones had been sick. It was terrible timing really. Not that there was a good time for sick kids but the baby had been up all night and refused to take a bottle and Jon had to leave her early.
He had gotten Ellie cleaned up and back in bed but he was headed out the door by the time Alec was sick. He hoped the baby would stay down for a bit so Mari could sleep. He called his mom to go over and help. He had been off with her most of the days but today he couldn't miss. Lois said she would head right over with supplies for the sick ones but that she couldn't stay all day.
The kids appeared to feel much better by the time he got home. Late. They were running back and forth and down the halls. Her hair was a mess and probably hadn't been combed. Her outfit had been changed but he was fairly certain it was dirty pajamas probably changed after the kids got the others messy. She had her eyes closed and head resting on the back of the couch while she was feeding the baby.
He had ordered food to pick up on his way home so he got the older kids settled to eat before he asked if she wanted to get a bath before she ate. She nodded exhaustedly so he left her to finish up with the baby while he tidied up in the bathroom and started the water. He lit her favorite candles and set up a small table with her food, a tall glass of water, and the book she hasn't had a chance to read much. He had just finished turning on the music when she walked his way. He leaned down to kiss her.
"I'm so gross today. You probably don't want to do that," she said.
He pulled her all the way against him and held her close before kissing her.
"You are beautiful. Nothing can hide that."
He dimmed the lights and focused back on what he could do to help. He felt so useless on the nights that Jake didn't want to take a bottle. He had been so much more demanding recently. He should probably make sure to pull out the next size of baby clothes very soon. He checked to make sure Jake was still sleeping before he shuffled the bigger kids towards the bath. They had both been half cleaned today but just in case he would get them very clean and that would help them settle for an early bed time.
He had them in swim suits so they could be in the same bath and left the door open so he could hear while he finished picking up. He moved around at superspeed picking up toys and laundry. Once he had the washer going he disinfected the surfaces in all the bedrooms. He peeked back at the kids before starting in the kitchen. He started the dishwasher and wiped the counters and tables. He stopped back by the bathroom to drain the water before he took out the trash.
The kids were just finishing getting in pajamas and teeth brushed when Mari emerged from the bathroom. Jon had to catch his breath at his beautiful she was. They had been married for almost ten years and he still couldn't believe how lucky he was. He motioned for her to come over and they piled onto the couch. Each child having just picked a book to read as they were all snuggled.
The children fell asleep almost instantly. Jon had hoped for that. He pulled Mari outside and held her close. He whispered against her hair.
"Don't worry. I'll be able to hear them."
He lifted her with him as he flew up. High above the city until it was calm and quiet. He floated on his back with her laying against his chest. He was tuned into their house so he would be able to hear any sound. But in the quiet Mari could have a break and rest. She did and just like the children, she was asleep very quickly. It slightly saddened him because he liked when they could lay together in the sky but tonight she needed sleep. He kissed her forehead and held her for a while before he took her back home, happy to have given her a moment of peace.
