They’ve been stranded at the private airport for the past hour due to fog. Terry was pissed. To pass the time, Daniel suggested they play hangman. Terry was in no mood but he humored him.
After a couple of rounds, the answer was obvious. Terry broke into a smile as he guessed. “Is it, ‘Can I have a kiss, Mister Silver?’”
“Well… can I?”
“You’re silly, kitten.” He pressed their lips together.
Chuckling, Daniel caressed his cheek. “It got you to smile though, right?”
Terry hummed and gave Daniel several more sweet kisses. They had time to spare after all.

i feel like kendall would bring it up so casually; you hadn’t been dating for that long but kendall was the kind of guy who didn’t really settle down to date one person, but when he did, he was all in. he was always there when you were upset, buying you little gifts and trips, even if he couldn’t come along with you because of work. he gave you flowers for most special occasions; there were even moments when you didn’t really know what, exactly, the occasion was. he loved you, and he told you that about two months into knowing you.
one night, you were eating takeout in his bed with him. one of his old band shirts hung over your torso as you spun lo mein around your chopsticks, tilting your head back to let them collapse on your awaiting tongue.
kendall scoffed, wiping the side of your mouth with a napkin. “you’re lucky you’re cute; if anyone else ate like that even near my bed i’d fuckin’ curbstomp them.”
you chewed, shrugging. “yeah, yeah. it has its perks when kendall roy has a soft spot for you.”
your phone chimed, the low ding of a new email. thinking it was from work, you checked it instinctively. your eyebrows furrowed, mouth opening with equal parts disgust and shock. “what the fuck?!”
“what is it, y/n?” kendall asked, concerned. “everything alright?”
“not sure,” you scrolled up to the top of the email, opting to reread for clarity. this couldn’t fucking be happening. “my rent is going up. by a fuck ton.”
you handed him the phone, not expecting him to have any concept of the numbers in front of him. kendall was amazing, thoughtful, loving— but he had no fucking concept of money.
“wait, so what was your rent before this?” he asked.
“500 less.”
kendall was at a loss. he had honestly been wanting to ask you to move in with him, but if he asked you now it would be seen as a pity move. and he didn’t want that. but he also really fucking wanted you to live with him. so he said that.
“this isn’t a pity move,” he began.
“oh great,” you rolled your eyes.
“no, i’m fucking serious.” he put your food on his bedside table. “move in with me.”
“okay, that is a pity move, kendall.”
“but it’s not.” he held a finger up, searching in the drawer by his bed. after some rummaging, he handed you a small, dark green box. “open.”
you furrowed your brows, lifting the top. it was a key, with your initial etched into the thick metal.
“kendall, are you serious?“
he nodded. “i got that made, like, 3 months ago.”
“we’ve only been dating for 6.”
he shrugged. “when you know, you know.”
“are you sure—“
kendall interrupted. “this place is way too big for just me. you’re always here anyway, and not having to pay rent will reduce some stress, not that that’s why i’m asking you.”
you began to tear up; feeling the heaviness of the key in your hand. you knew kendall struggled with commitment and opening up, moving in with him felt like a symbol, of him trusting you enough to let you in, physically as well as emotionally.
“are you crying because you don’t know how to reject me, or—“
“of course i’ll live with you ken,” you hugged him, and he pulled you into his lap, kissing you. it had a distinct flavor of content, of happiness, comfortability.
