this is THE dovesky song so of course i had to draw her. this song really put me in my feels and helped me figure out my characterization for her. anyways this specifically corresponds with the second verse, go listen to the song it's really good.

here's the starpool redesign i was talking about last night, i planned on this being a quick sketch but ended up going WAY overboard with it, haha. that's fine tho, because it ended up looking nice and i got to draw all of my healers!

Hey! which charcters to want to redraw and why?

So, which of my characters do I want to redesign? Good question! Here's some of the cats I want to do redesigns on when I finish the new Clan sheets:

Flurryfeather: make her smaller, make her pelt more feathery, and change her herb, probably to rosemary

Tuftear: mostly I think I want to change her markings, I'm not great at designing torties and her design is really busy

Heronstalk: I have never been super satisfied with his design, but I think the one on the recolored Clan sheets I posted is pretty good

Quickwhisper: I want to give her some brown tones like she's a bit sun-bleached, and make her look slightly less like a carbon copy of Blackreed

Splinterfang: I want to change the way his fur hangs to make him look kinda wet and bedraggled, and I think I'll give his fur more of a grey tone. And maybe make his markings more burmese-esque like his sister and mom

Darkeyes: Idk.. her design just. it doesn't really fit how I envision her personality in my head? Not sure what I would change though. Maybe make her a little greyer, now that I have her siblings solidified as being Batswoop and Breezefeather, who are both black.

Pheasantruff: I completely redid his coloring on the recolored Clan sheet, and I'll probably change his face structure to look a lot more cocky to match his confident, slightly abrasive demeanor

How come Snowyfeather has feathers instead of herbs like the other medicine cats?

Okay let’s see if I can answer this coherently!

Snowyfeather has two dove feathers to represent her mother Dovesky. Dovesky was a RiftClan queen who sent her kits Cliffkit, Icegaze, and Snowyfeather to live in GlenClan with their father Hickorystar because RiftClan has a REALLY strict culture about Clan loyalty, especially concerning half-clan relationships. The relationship between these two Clans at the times was under especially high stress due to fights surrounding rights to the river. Had the half-clan nature of her kits been revealed, Dovesky likely would have been banished and while her kits wouldn’t have been punished, they would have led significantly more difficult lives.

Though it is uncommon, Snowyfeather isn’t the only healer to have feathers. Tumblefeather (PineClan healer apprentice Tumblepaw in the allegiances) has brown feathers in his neck fur, and past healers Swallowbird hand Ravenspeckle also had feathers in their fur
