Flytrap Husbands Idea: The town has hear of two angel like beings seen near a dragons den, and assume the worst, expecting to go up there and find the etherial beings held captive. Meanwhile Jimmy, Scott, and Sausage are trying to mind their damn bussnies, and have to keep the townsfolk away. -Ying Yang

Empires Fine 2022!

Hello, welcome to the first ever Empires Fine! The story of this event is quite simple; I can’t draw, but I always wanted to do something like zine, so my fellow mods and I came up with Zine but with Fan-fiction- and Fine was born!

This works very, very similar to Zine, with applications and such, but instead of art, it’s writing! We plan on accepting 13 writers, and if you are accepted, you’ll have the opportunity to write something brand new and have it put in a collection on Ao3 and re-blogged on here!

The application form is here!! It’ll be open from March 20 - April 20 (hah) and you’ll hear back from us by then if you got in! Good luck!

ok ok. so we have flower husbands and we have meat husbands so.... what i just *makes them polyam*

Scott has abandoned his post as Ruler of Rivendell, and I like to think even post-fixing the ice corruption he doesn’t reclaim the title. Yes, he could continue building and helping Rivendell, but he has no responsibility to do so anymore.

And since I’m mild Venus Flytrap Husbands trash(/positive), I’ve got ideas. (These fit into my au,) the first ones do fit into a pre-dating, just after Scott’s return from exile time though.

So since his ice magic isn’t entirely gone, and still somewhat unpredictable when he gets too emotional, he doesn’t go and live in the swamp. but Mythland and the Cod Empire are not even a full flight away and the rulers already basically live together, so Scott moves into a room of Mythland’s megacastle.

Scott is often mistaken for a servant since he would rather do menial tasks like taking care of animals, farmland, and trading than just lounge around or do diplomat stuff again. It doesn’t help his emotional healing from the exile, but Myth (sausage) and Jimmy are quick to offer him official titles, which he denies since he feels the need to go through with the proper royal courting rituals of the elves, and hasn’t done that yet. (I have my own take on the fighting=flirting thing that’s gone around on tumblr)

(Okay now to when they’re dating/married/whatever)

He sleeps with a lot of blankets, and I mean a lot. And post-courting he will wear Sausage’s cape to bed because for some reason it warms him more than anything else and it doesn’t frost over like everything else does.

In the summer Sausage and Jimmy will argue about where Scott’s going to stay bc no matter how hot it is he acts like a living AC unit. Scott is very happy he didn’t have to experience non-Rivendell summer for extended periods of time before his magic, and even more happy that his magic is doing good for others. (He accepts bribes while deciding where)

Scott loves flying over the ocean and has often been seen perching on Sausage’s/visiting allies’ ships when they’re docked. He also really enjoys flying over the spread out buildings of the cod empire and skimming his hands across the rivers. He very rarely freezes anything while doing these things, and does them year round since he still isn’t effected by the cold.

(Mostly Unrelated to flytrap husbands but- still relevant to post-exile Scott in my au.) Gem helps him master his power once Xornoth is free and his magic is dampened again. She’s one of the only people who know he’s still capable of icy destruction, Fwhip suspects it and Scott told Jimmy and Sausage, Xornoth and Joey are also aware, although they haven’t seen it. Scott and Xornoth’s magic is about at the same strength.

Yes, Xornoth is free. Nobody knows except Scott and Joey, he lives in the lost empire and doesn’t leave bc everyone would hate him (minus Scott) and he’s very focused on figuring out how love works with Joey. And how to create things rather than destroy, since Joey works on keeping the temples in peak condition it’s good practice for him to get away from the corruption.

A soulmate Au with Flytrap Husbands :D

Jimmy was born long before the Gods of the world had even begun to ponder the creation of soulmates and the Marks to identify them. Long before they had begun to create with intent rather than boredom- and thus before humans, gnomes, elves, and the many other sentient creatures which would be created with them even existed. Thus, he was born without any of the magical marks on his skin. To be fair, he wasn’t even really born with traditional skin at all- but the point still stands.

Scott was born with a bright red poppy blooming in the hollow of his throat. His parents had both been relieved to see it, the contrasting red flower on their son’s skin telling them that his soulmate was already born- and thus more likely than not an immortal. Hopefully, another elf, or one of the fae from the Overgrown, as the flower seemed to suggest.

Prince Sausage of Mythland was born with two intricate marks decorating his skin. His heart was shielded by a copper-scaled fish, a sea of aquamarine and turquoise swirls surrounding it. His hip was adorned with an aged oak branch- grown and carved into the shape of an antler.
