I love the idea of Ed and Al going on their repective travels and sending each other (+ Winry) photos in the mail. Photos of landscapes, new friends they've made, small animals, new gadgets, spices, anything to share what they've seen while apart.

I think it would be hilarious if when Ed and Al joined team Mustang they just assumed Roy and Riza were married and like one day much to their confusion and sadness they find out they're not and the rest of Team Mustang has to be like we don't really get it either

Alphonse: Hey, what's Leiutenant Hawkeye's last name

Falman: What do you mean? It's Hawkeye. Riza Hawkeye.

Alphonse: What

Falman: H-A-W-K-E-Y-E, R-I-Z-A

Edward: Wait, I thought that was her nickname since she's the top sniper, "The Hawk's eye"

Fuery: Yeah, but her last name is also coincidently "Hawkeye."

Havoc: Honestly, that's probably where the name came from. The officials at the military academy aren't that creative.

Rebecca, with dramatic flare: Or maybe it was her destiny

Alphonse: So, is that why she kept her last name?

Havoc: What do you mean?

Edward: Why she didn't take the colonel bastard's last name?

Alphonse: Yeah, it could be confusing to have a Lieutenant Mustang and Colonel Mustang

Edward: Why do you think I call him Colonel Bastard, it's not just accurate but strategic

Rebecca: Oh . . . honey . . no

Edward: What?

Alphonse: What's wrong?

Edward: Why does everyone look sad all of a sudden?

Rebecca: *sniffles*

Havoc: *puts a comforting hand on Rebecca's shoulder*

Fuery: The Lieutenant and the colonel . . . well . . . They aren't actually married

Rebecca: *starts crying on Havoc's shoulder*

Alphonse: B-but they're together, aren't they?

Rebecca: *cries even louder*

Havoc: *rubs her back comfortingly*

Breda: No, they're not - I mean, well

Alphonse: Why aren't they together?!

Rebecca, sobbing: WWWWHHHYYYY?!

Hakuro: What the hell is going on in here?!

Rebecca: *furiously screams something inaudible at Hakuro*

Hakuro: *exits scaredly*

Later in Resembool they break the sad and shocking news to Winry who actually takes it a lot harder than they do because she ships them soooooo much

I have some more headcanons about Greed and animals, some of these I mentioned before but just want to expand on them:

Greed has a surprising amount of knowledge about animals and taking care of animals, as an extension of the headcanon/theory he was originally Father’s zookeeper. He mentions this knowledge now and then but doesn’t make a huge deal out of it. It has come in handy with the Devil’s Nest gang’s er…special needs. Like not letting Dolcetto eat chocolate and giving Bido snd Martel extra warms.

This means he also has some basic skills in field veterinary medicine. Someone had to patch up and give meds to Father’s rowdy dungeon chimeras. Btw zoo veterinarians are skilled at adapting skills and knowledge across species. Chimeras being combined animals are of course an extra challenge.

Being around animals and human-animal chimeras has inspired his more “beastial” behavior like using his Ultimate Shield to make claws. Also climbing like a fucking lizard up those tubes. He also has hunted and fished like a wild animal.

During the great Camping Trip of 1914, Greed would sometimes pay attention to or go near some animal, then Ed would come up and be like “Woah that’s an amazing bug!”. If the animal doesn’t get scared away, Ed and Greed try to catch the animal. Once Greed caught a lizard, then got strangely attached to it. The lizard managed to slip away and Greed was very upset the rest of the day.

Greed has cuddled and slept with big fluffy animal-animal chimeras.

Greed 2.0 has sometimes wondered if he would be considered a homunculus-human chimera.

Greed is very good at soothing animals. Chimeras of course have a lot of psychological issues.

If Greed had survived The Promised Day, he would be really into any royal menageries and stables at the imperial palace. He would have also been good friends with Shao Mei.

He can change his aura to be more inviting to animals.

He is actually very good at recognizing animals, can easily tell a leopard from a jaguar (despite probably only seeing them in zoos and pictures) quickly, even without looking at their spots.

headcanon: al totally has a briefcase like the one that ed carries, but he just carries books and crossword puzzles in it and he sticks it inside his armor. when he gets his body back he has to repack his suitcase before he leaves for xing and he panics bc he has no clue what he needs, and he actually has to carry it this time.

EVERY character in fma is ace and/or aro spec now. We'd stock the legions of Heaven for eternity to come with all the wings we're giving angels here.

Consider: demiromantic Roy, grey aro demisexual Riza. Sig and Izumi's marriage is a qpr now. I don't make the rules. Aroace Olivier Armstrong, obviously. Grey aro Greed. Ace Lust. Edward x Winry has always been a qpr in canon in my heart so. Ling's ace, Lan Fan is demiromantic. Etc. etc.

Grey aro Greed is PERFECT.

In one of my fics, Maes and Gracia are qpr and only married out of the necessity of Gracia not being shunned by society for having Elicia out of wedlock, so honestly I'm just gonna add that to the list.

Lan Fan being demiromantic is BRILLIANT.

Every FMA character is queer until proved otherwise.

More headcanons for 2003 this guy-- he's a kid whose hair goes from blond to brown upon puberty and isn't totally sure how to feel is so normal about looking less like his brother and looking more like his mom.

next thing you know he's chasing you around the office, his temper to the sky, and you laughing wildly.
