Top 5 favorite things you've seen on a walk or hike?
BIG FUCKASS STARFALL. Ok, so I used to go on these nightly walks (to smoke weed) at around 1 to 3 am back in the days, and one time when I was out I thought a car with headlights on blast was driving up behind me, cause shit got BRIGHT AS FUCK all of a sudden. So I looked back, and then I look up to see a huge, VERY bright, streak of greenish light cross the heavens. It was so bright the sky temporarily turned BLUE where it went. It was truly awe-inspiring. I have never seen anything like it before or since. Looking it up later apparently I was out walking at the time the Perseids were most active and I caught a meteorite just by chance. I did not know meteorites could get to that level of brightness. It truly turned the night sky into day for a brief couple of moments.
Another early morning walk (5 am) just a year or two ago I saw what I thought was a woman with two huge dogs in the distance. As I caught up to them it turned out she was walking a couple of horses on the walking path near the lake where I live. Also very cool.
Badger who wanted to fight me and forced me to turn around (another morning walk).
Ärtknubben in Falun. Very difficult hike cause the two sporty people dragged my fat ass up an incline of like 60 degrees and I had some real shitty shoes for that. Legit thought I would slip and fall to my death at times, but the view once we got up there was amazing! (next time we'll hike the longer but easier path, ok? @mygeekcorner @magnusdidntwantablog?)
Seen some absolutely breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the lake in Sigtuna when I used to take my daily walks. Pretty basic but they're always so pretty at certain times a year.
Top 5 outdoor activities?
1) walking/hiking (but like… nothing strenuous lol). love me some pretty scenery and sunshine! there’s plenty of trails near me, some of which lead to watering holes or waterfalls. we explored a bunch of them during lockdown.
2) chalk art! i just bought some chalk so i can decorate my driveway and i’m super excited about it (though i might have to wait until after summer 🥵)
3) storm watching, bonus points if i have a nice porch to do it from. god i sound old.
4) drive ins! i’d never actually been to one until a few years ago, and i officially love them. super fun to watch horror movies in that environment!
5) finding a body of water to stick my feet in, literally nothing better on a hot day 😎 or a cold day, i’m not picky
Top 5 songs from musicals?
I have to admit, I'm not into musicals. I don't think I could even name five songs. But thank you for the ask anyways! 🫶
Top 5 outdoor activities?
I'm less of an outdoor person than a lot of my friends, I think, and about 90% of my fun outdoor activities are 'wander around and look at things.'
Jogging very early in the morning, when it's misty-rainy and just cold enough that your body heat makes your glasses fog up; no people, flattish terrain, cold air, warm body.
Spotting random wildlife that hangs out in your local area with you is fun. For me, it's loads of birds: rainbow lorikeets (heard, usually, before they're seen; loud bastards), cockatoos, cormorants, swans, crows, magpies. I really love watching paired swans marching along with tiny fluffball cygnets between them. Extremely cute.
City walks. I don't go in for walking scores of kilometres, but I like a five or six km walk. See what's going on. Look at what's advertised at the theatres. Buy a takeaway coffee and clutch it as you wander around. Peer into store windows. Examine the architecture and read plaques on buildings. Review the graffiti. Always something new! When I travelled briefly to Europe this also grew to encompass very old ruins and monuments and stuff.
I love to go on an outing to see a cool guy? Take a boat to see fur seals, go to a beach to see little penguins, you know? This is hard for me for various ability-related reasons, but I still like to do it when I can.
I quite like gardening, but I have about 1×3m of space that gets maybe 4 hours of direct sunlight, so... my efforts don't always feel like a strong contender for a real outdoor activity (I mean, especially not in June, which is winter for Australians). But I like looking at other people's gardens, too, so that's something.

4. met @woodswit in person and, as expected, she was a fucking delight! cannot wait to hang with her again!
