it was the same rush of doing music shows day in and day out to promote knight’s latest album and title track, rpm. he wasn’t entirely sure how he felt about the song itself, it was okay, to say the least, and he could enjoy it. but, he really couldn’t fully put his finger on the song itself - he kind of misses having brighter concepts, and felt as if bc entertainment was feeding into the concept of the newer boy groups to follow the trend. but, nonetheless, it is what it is, and he was still having fun promoting, as he always did. it was the first knight comeback of the year, they were lucky if bc gave them a second.
he was turning a corner, in the search of some food. he was going a place where there was no one, bare of any form of life because no one but duri really used the steps. this was known, when everyone took the elevator, duri was going up and down stairs - he just wasn’t a fan of the elevator. however, he was a bit surprised to see someone else there. “ah, gyujeong?” he said, head tilting. “are you okay?”

Good choices were not Chunhwa’s forte, especially when she was trying to compensate for any spike of bad feelings. Overindulging substances she probably shouldn’t was also not something Chunhwa was a stranger to— though lately her mostly hectic schedule had kept her from being to do it without thinking about the consequences. At the pool party, however, Chunhwa hadn’t been thinking about it. She had been thinking about getting drunk as fast as possible and staying so for as long as possible, Andy’s presence only contributing to make her feel safe enough to not have full control of herself. Whatever happened, Chunhwa knew Andy would look after her. So she had drank and drank and drank, until she felt sick and couldn’t bounce back from it, until Andy had to literally carry her back to the bungalow where he was staying because he didn’t have the option of letting her go back by herself.
And said consequences only hit her when she woke up. Chunhwa was lucky enough not to throw up again, but her head was threatening to burst and her stomach was twisting in that way that told her she needed food immediately. She managed to climb out of the bed and check the time— it was late enough that she believed the rest of the people staying in the bungalow would be out, so Chunhwa didn’t bother changing out of the combo of underwear and Andy’s t-shirt before going to the kitchen to cook something for herself. She was grabbing the egg carton when her eyes caught the presence of someone at the entrance. “Holy shit,” Chunhwa startled, almost dropping the eggs. “Do you make a habit of sneaking on girls like that?”
akira fiddled with the hem of her skirt as she was led down the long hallway towards the room that the interview would be held in. it would be the first time that she would be doing something without the two other members of chroma since they had debuted not even a week earlier. she did think it was a little backwards that a senior would be interviewing their junior, but she tried not to dwell on that for too long. haon was an idol that was under bc entertainment, someone that she had seen plenty of times before, not just on television or on the internet, but just in passing around the bc building. she wasn’t sure how he felt about the whole thing, so she wanted to put her best foot forward for it. she was mentally trying to put herself on her best behavior, not wanting to let too much of her true personality slip through the carefully constructed idol image that bc instilled on her.
she entered the room after haon had, and she immediately bowed and greeted him. “hi, nice to meet you.. officially,” she said after her greeting. she walked over to the couch where she was designated to sit, hesitating for a moment before carefully sitting down. she fidgeted with her legs for a moment, crossing one over the other, before doing it the opposite way while smoothing out her skirt. “i’m sorry, i just - “ she pointed towards the pillow resting on haon’s chair. “do you mind, sunbaenim?” she asked, silently inquiring if he was willing to give it to her so she could place it on her lap.
“you mean the best single we’ve ever released? that would be cherry bomb, of course. everything from the choreography, the styling and just the song itself. i love everything about cherry bomb. no other song has topped it.. super human came pretty close, and the 7th sense, but cherry bomb won out.”
what are your favorite b-sides/non-title tracks you’ve released?
“i really like highway to heaven! that’s probably my favorite b-side that we’ve recorded. and we have an english version too. i think i really like that song because it’s just.. a really chill love song. i like the lyrics, both the korean and english lyrics. it’s a song that i’d probably put in a playlist for a significant other, if i’m being honest. i wish we got to perform it more often. i think it would have charted well if we promoted it.”
if you could do a duet with anyone in the industry, who would you choose?
“i’d love to collaborate with gold star soloist 1, bc soloist 1, @fmdtaeyong, @fmdjoosung, or @durifmd! for starters, not only do i think they’re all talented, i just really love all of their music. i’m a big fan of knight, so it’s not a surprise that i like ash and duri’s solo work too. i think that i’d be able to make good music with both ash and duri if i were given the chance to. and sung is one of my best friends, so it’s not farfetched that i’d want to work with him too.”
5. answered.
what changes would you implement if you were the ceo of your company?
“the length of the idol contract would be the first thing that i changed. i don’t think it’s fair to tie someone to a company for a decade. i think that i would make it so that the contracts would only be about five years, no more than that. i think that’d be fair. another change would be giving the idols more freedom creatively and musically. we know what our fans want, and they want us to put out music that we love.”
describe your dream sub-unit (members and concept).
“out of my group members? oh, definitely @fmdsamsoo, @fmdjaeyeol and minjun hyung. we’re all vocalists, and i think it’d be fun to see us do a chill, r&b kind of sound with a relaxed concept. instead of dark and sexy, we could do cool and sexy instead.. but for idols outside of my group, i’d have to say sung, @fmdaidynn, and @fmdxsuji. sung’s an amazing dancer, aidynn’s a great rapper and i absolutely adore suji’s voice. our concept would be something retro-esque. wouldn’t that be cool?”
the idea of this private concert was ridiculous to begin with, it only got worse jaein cursed the fact that she landed on the bottom of the senior hierarchy within the company which forced lucid to attend. it’s become evident from the start that the idols there were basically props. they were made to perform like some bad high school band hired to play at prom or something. just a tune in the background so that when all the businessmen in the room ran out of fake compliments to throw around, they could excuse it on the noise playing.
upon finishing her set with lucid, she sat down towards the back of the room, choosing to stay away from everybody huddled around in the center. talks about investments and value were of no interest to her, and all she wanted was to get out of here, but she knows that’s not a choice she gets to make. she’s too busy being annoyed at everything that it takes her a moment to realize that she’s not alone. matter of fact, it seems she’s the one that’s walked into someone else’s hiding spot. she nods towards the knight member as a means of acknowledgement, and she’d probably be more polite and more lucid-leader-jaein-like if she didn’t find this whole thing irritating.
“sorry. didn’t realize someone else was here. guess i’m not the only one that thought this place was a good place to hide.”

IN-’VERSE INFO
A week before they’re scheduled to film, the idols chosen are informed that they’ve been cast as mentors for the episode 6 & 7 block of the show. They’re informed of their filming time, the skill they’ve been chosen to give a workshop on, and the other idol that will be helping with the same skill. They will also be told the songs and arrangements the idols will be performing for their respective position evaluations. Dance mentors will also be given the choreography ahead of time to familiarize themselves with.
There will be five contestants performing each song.
Episodes 6 & 7 (Position Evaluations) - January 11
The mentors will arrive at the studio where the show is filming on January 11. The vocal mentors will coach in the morning, the dance mentors in the afternoon, and the rap mentors in the evening. The pair will be filming their mentoring at the same time, though they may mentor separately, together, or switch on and off as they see fit.
Before doing any other filming, the mentors are pulled aside for a short talking head interview as follows:
Which song do you consider to be the harder performance of the two?
If you were a contestant on the show, which song of the two would you have wanted to chose to perform?
What do you expect a pre-debut trainee to struggle most with for their position evaluation?
The pairs will mentor the first group listed for around an hour and then switch to the second group listed.
Once inside each room, they’ll introduce themselves and the members of the group they’re helping will introduce themselves to them (note: Muns of mentors may write interactions with NPCs in the groups to their liking, but please avoid writing detailed interactions with every single member of the group since some contestants may later not be NPCs).
The group will then show the mentors the current state of their performance. The mentors will be expected to give initial critiques and feedback on their performance before working more in-depth to help improve their performance over the course of the hour they have with each group. Though other performance elements may be in play in a performance other than the specific skill the position evaluation is for, the mentors are suggested to keep to advising on the specific skill they are there for.
At the end of their time mentoring, each mentor is asked to pick an MVP from the contestants based on what they’ve seen from the workshop. They may use their own criteria to pick this.
After they have completed their time mentoring, they will be asked to give one more talking head interview before leaving:
How do you feel your mentoring session went?
Did anything happen that threw you off of your original plans? Did you realize they were struggling with anything unexpected or did you add on any other tips in the moment?
Do you feel you’ve grown or learned anything from mentoring? Do you feel that vocals/dance/rap is in good hands with the next generation of idols?
The position mentors are also invited to come and be filmed watching the live performances for their specific position on filming for the final stages on January 15 to react to the stages. This is optional.
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
Every mun who submitted for this casting should have at least one muse receiving a mentorship role, either during this filming or the last one. Most muns should have gotten their first choice muse in, but a few may have gotten a second or third choice muse in and not their first choice. This is simply because the first choice muse was submitted to fewer categories and/or only to more selective categories and has lower odds of being selected, while the second or third choice muse was submitted to more categories and/or less selective categories and had higher odds.
* = The “lesson plan” headcanon doesn’t have to take a specific format or resemble any kind of real lesson plan; it should just detail what your muse is anticipating having to teach and help with and what they did to prepare for mentoring.
Any questions can be directed to the main’s ask box!
she’s friendly with most of knight. she counts many of the members as good, long term friends, or at the very least, she’s on friendly terms with them. there’s one notable exception, however, an oncoming headache in the shape of chung gyujeong. she tried to get along with him for years, she promises she did, but he insisted on making things as difficult as possible. he’s an idol, shouldn’t he at least care a little bit about dance? whatever. minhee is so over chasing after his respect, and she’s so done with affording him the luxury of hers. nowadays, every time she has the misfortune of meeting gyujeong, minhee gets the urge to pick a fight.
and minhee, being minhee, just can’t resist.
lips pouting, arms folded across her chest, she strolls up to gyujeong with a skeptical expression. “what are you doing around here at this time?” she huffs, gesturing with her head towards the corridor of rehearsal studios behind them. minhee leans back against the wall, making her intention on staying very clear. “aren’t you too good for things like rehearsal? your comeback is over now anyways.” it’s not her best jab by any means, but minhee is admittedly salty over knight’s comeback’s budget and quality. meanwhile, she’d just gotten back from a bare bones set that was almost impossible to overlook, no matter how many more lines she got in the song than usual.
𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: gyujeong’s apartment building

texting chani hadn’t really crossed her mind before inyeong had made her way to the man’s apartment building. surely there was nothing he would be doing this afternoon? he didn’t have schedules, that inyeong knew for sure, and if he was fucking someone at three pm on a wednesday, then she was both bound to hear it before she even made it into the apartment and inyeong would also be slightly impressed. not that she’d ever admit that to the boy, lest make him even more unbearable than he already was, no. she wanted to come over because she was bored, her parents weren’t around and she wasn’t about to start being social with her members – as if! inyeong had successfully avoided that possibility for the past five years and she was going to stick to it! everybody else she knew was busy and inyeong wasn’t about to go so low as to attempt to find something fun to do at the company. the girl barely paid attention to where she was going, though, and assumed she was in the right location as she rang the doorbell, eyes stuck on her iphone.
