Here are the fourth and final filming tasks for our Idolized event! For this task block, there are 4 tasks for points below the cut. Three of them are specific tasks for the show, while one is a normal self-para prompt. You are not required to complete all tasks (or any), so I encourage everyone to do only what they have muse for instead of draining themselves, especially due to the high number of tasks this time! The filming block has been extended by a week this time to cleanly wrap up the event and in consideration of the highest number of tasks in any filming block.
Reminder that task completions should be tagged only in the individual tag for this task block. Additional reminder that any tasks directly related to the show (all tasks for this task block except for the development self-para) completed after the deadline will not count for points.
Note: Completing these tasks is worth up to 8 points total on your points page. If you plan to complete the tasks, please post them by Sunday, June 3, at noon EDT (current time EDT can be found here) in the tag #fmdidolized4. Points may only be collected once the post is liked by the main to verify proper completion. If it doesn’t fulfill the requirements or is not posted in the task tag, it will not be verified. Any threads or self-paras that take place on camera should be tagged #fmdidolizedoncam. This includes the starter and subsequent replies for as long as they are on camera. Any interactions not appropriately tagged as such will not be considered as submitted for potential airing.
Task One. Filming Thread (2 points)
Prompt: During the idols’ time in Jeju (May 23 or May 24 through May 27 depending on the artist), idols will be on a fairly hectic schedule of events. Several will be filmed for the show but some will not be. The full schedule for the trip can be found below with all on-camera events marked accordingly. Your filming thread may take place during any of these on-camera times.
Full schedule of all days and hotel details can be found here.
The Hallyu Triple Fantasy Concert’s setlist can be once again found here.
The Portal Livestream Concert’s setlist can once again be found here.
Idols are encouraged to post on social media about the public events.
Requirements:
You may do as many threads (and self-paras) as you wish taking place during filming, but only one will count for points. The thread completed for points should be the one tagged under #fmdidolized4 and should fulfill the following:
The majority of the thread should take place on camera and be tagged accordingly.
The thread should consist of at least a starter and a reply from the original poster and two replies from the thread partner (a total of 4 posts, assuming two writers) by the deadline. You are highly encouraged to continue the thread past the deadline if you wish to!
Threads not for points may be off-camera and with whomever you wish.
Task Two. Self-cam - Thank you gift to fans (2 points)
Prompt: Your muse has been provided with a vlogging-style camera at some point during the trip where they may have down time (at the hotel, backstage before the concert, etc.) and given free rein to film a gift for their fans. To keep the sincerity of the gift, your muse is allowed to pick whatever way they feel best portrays their gratitude toward their fans, whether it be a song cover, a vlog of their time in Jeju, a sincere talk to the camera, a short clip of their aegyo, a mukbang, etc. No idol is guaranteed to have their video released and if the video filmed is controversial or reflects poorly on the idol, it will be scrapped and re-filmed at a later date. It’s encouraged for muns to use this task to explore your muse’s internal feelings about their fans and their external expression (or lack of external expression) of it.
Requirements:
This task should be completed as a self-para of 400+ words will not count toward your self-para limit for the month.
Task Three. Development Self-Para (2 points)
Prompt: Write a self-para of 400+ words about a developmental moment in your muse’s time as a trainee or idol. This moment can be something obviously crucial (their first day as a trainee, their debut stage, their solo debut stage, the first time they participated in their group’s creative process (if applicable), their win on a competition show, an injury, etc.), but should explore the themes of their life as an idol or trainee. Tying this into anything that has happened during Idolized filming is encouraged, but not required. If completed, this does not count toward any of your monthly limits for the month.
Requirements:
This task should be completed as a self-para of 400+ words will not count toward your self-para limit for the month.
Task Four. Interview (2 points)
Prompt: Your muse has been pulled aside on May 27, the day after all of the concerts, before leaving Jeju to film an overall reflective interview for Idolized. They will be pulled aside into a room which has been specially designated on their floor of the hotel and set up just like the normal rooms for talking head segments utilized during the show. Your muse will be asked the following questions by a producer (who is off-screen) and their answers will be filmed. They should answer in typical reality show format, including the question in their answer and answering as though no direct question was asked. The longer the answers and the more topics covered the better, since it allows more options for editors. All footage will be kept and will possibly be aired throughout the season. Idols are instructed to maintain a personal, but not overly negative attitude in their answers. Even if written in self-para format, this does not count toward any of your monthly limits for the month.

the second concert in jeju for idolized, and ilwoo’s adrenaline was potently pumping through his veins in vivid crimson. cheeks a dull pink and ample of chewed celery sticks dipped in ranch, he generously helped himself to the free healthy snacks offered. it was all he could muster to seem lively because ilwoo without smiling nor talking to himself? well, that wasn’t the tokki viewers knew, and he was created to appease.
“shen, do you want some food?” plopping on the couch of their joint waiting room, a quadrant large enough for their numerous members, ilwoo offered a tray of vegetables to his long time friend. arguably his best friend in origin and in general. the age difference, the separate groups may have divided them, but shen and ilwoo remained close. it was known throughout origin story, their tightly woven bond. years passed since they last were on camera together, it was almost reliving the past, but ilwoo hoped it would shed a better light on shen. “you should eat up! we’ll be using all our energy later to put on the best show ever.” again.
dancing in heels on a wet stage was the perfect recipe for someone to get hurt, but no one with the power to keep that from happening had seemed to care when the forecasts had all predicted a chance of rain before they show began. dohee understood they didn’t have other shoes to offer them, but for an outdoor concert, common sense would suggest stylists should be prepared for all weather. she was powerless to do anything about it, but as she left the stage, doing her best to conceal the limp caused by her twisted ankle, she only prayed none of the other girls had gotten injured.
dohee was an expert at hiding her feelings, but as she made her way farther backstage into the claustrophobic hallways of the venue where cameras lingered, her stiletto landed the wrong way and she stumbled messily into the body of another person. before she could recompose herself, she winced painfully at the sharp sting that shot through her ankle. “oh, i’m sorry,” she apologized, trying to put weight back on her own feet again. “silly me. i should have been paying more attention to where i was walking.” one attempt at standing on her left foot and her face twisted in even more pronounced pain she hoped the person she’d stumbled into somehow hasn’t noticed.
7ROPHY’S EUNHA X UNITY’S BLUE: BLOOD, SWEAT, & TEARS BY ORIGIN (VOCAL COVER) @fmdeunha
"the past few months have been an honor to experience. from hours dedicated in the studio recording for unity’s comeback to rehearsing for the korean times music festival and hallyu triple fantasy concert. never before have i been busier than these past few months, and i would not ask for it to be any differently. performing for my angels, singing, and dancing is what i enjoy to do more than anything. you will never hear me complain for a compacted schedule. i would rather be kept busy than to have nothing for each day. all the hard work is for you all, and i would give my angels the whole world. the boys and i are excited to show you all our best effort, and i am more than ready to meet as many angels that i can. all this to say thank you for the support.
i feel like the luckiest man alive for dimensions to give us another comeback during this time. the boys and i love hearing your feedback on both BOSS as well as BABY DON’T STOP. we love traveling and performing for you all to share the experience with us, and we hope for our work to continue. i also want to personally give thanks for the immense love received. performing in the united states is always exciting, traveling to japan is also always a blast, and the hallyu triple fantasy concert has been a dream come true. performing in front of so many people was nerve-wrecking, but, nonetheless, an experience i will cherish forever. i was honored to perform alongside two talented vocalists as well, which i will forever consider myself lucky for. both @fmdhaejun and @fmdjulien are extremely talented and to be able to perform alongside both hyungs is incredible.
i intend to spend each single day dedicated to making all the angels happy. you all make me a better person, and i owe my life to you all. i do not share much about my past, but i do want you all to know that this life has saved me. you all saved me, and i can never thank you all enough. this cover of ORIGIN’S BLOOD, SWEAT, & TEARS with my dear friend @fmdeunha is only a small gift. we took a moment of our available time to record this vocal cover. we do hope you all like this! i had fun working with this extremely talented and beautiful woman, and i hope to work again with eunha."

The smile he threw at the stylist who was currently fixing his tie was as genuine as possible. The preparations for the second of the concert had gone more smoothly than the day before, but the possibility of rain had the staff telling him to be extra careful as they danced. Taesung who was pretty famous for going a bit too hard to compensate for the lack of skills, would have to remind himself over and over again to not exaggerate and end up breaking a bone. It wouldn’t be the first not the twentieth time Decipher performed under the rain, but better safe than sorry, of course. Once settled, he went around searching for his member, bowing his head to the staff and other idols. He found Duri standing near the stage and quickly made his way towards the younger man, hugging him from behind. “ Happy anniversary! I know I already said that, but ten years! ” Taesung hid his smile on the back of the other’s neck. “ Duri-yah, we are old! ”

there was very little time before the artists had to prepare themselves for the beginning of the concert. it was the first day – enough things had gone wrong already, and the girl was a complete mess as she prepared backstage. outside of the 7rophy dressing room, she could listen to people running around, fixing the last mistakes before the first group had to go and as much as she would’ve taken this time to gather the girls around for a group hug and their leader pep talk, eunha could only focus on the fact that her costume’s blazer was nowhere to be seen. “ i rehearsed with it, ” she told the stylist, for the third time. “ how could it have gone missing if it’s not even the first time that we wear these? ” the singer didn’t want to be rude – she never wanted to be rude, especially not to people who were working, but she’d been pushed to the edge too much already. “ what was the last dressing room you’ve been to? ” CHARM. without second guessing it, the girl was out of the room, already walking down the corridor towards her junior group’s room. the door was open and she completely ignored the cameras once her eyes were set on the blazer in one of the boys’ hands. “ ah, changki-ssi, ” she approached the boy with a relieved smile. “ i believe that’s mine. ”
❛ Minah wasn't sure if she was even supposed to be here. Everywhere and anywhere she went, she only felt like she was being cornered. Cameras were all up against the idols' faces and she didn't get past that either. Even in hunger or when her bladder tells her she needs a timeout, the cameras followed her every move like hawks eyeing their prey and waiting for an attack. Prey. She paused as she washed her hands, her body telling her that she has needs to fulfill at this moment and her grumbling stomach tells her just what she forgot to do. Eat.
“Hello~” Minah cheerfully greets people on her way to stuff her stomach with something fulfilling. A silent prayer to her stars watching over her that they don't offer tasteless food or she just might go berserk. Scanning the area, she picks up what she considers appetizing and carefully stuffs herself in front of the camera. In the corner of her eyes, she watches a friend eat. Curious, she approaches her while the cameras weren't trying to zoom into her pores.
“Ya.” Minah pokes Lyra's shoulder. “What are you eating?” Could it be? A cake? How many slices had Lyra had? “Put that cake down. You should be a supportive friend. Come and suffer with me. Let's eat that green thing they call salad.” ❜

summary: for idolized4 task two
notes: idek pls don’t ever read anything i write thx. this hasn’t been edited, so what i said x10. tw for mentions of depression maybe? + ash being on his usual shit thinking he gets to control how other people feel.
the video camera had been weighing heavy in ash’s mind since he’d been given it and told what he was supposed to do. the work he’d been assigned was simple, but he didn’t know how. how was he supposed to thank fans he didn’t want to have anymore? having fans meant he was still an idol, a public figure, and that wasn’t what he wanted. guilt wrapped its bony fingers around him whenever he thought about how he’d been putting it off until his last day in jeju.
ash‘s feelings toward his fans was a constant struggle between his duty and his real desire.
he should be endlessly grateful for every fan he had left. knight had an impressively large fanbase, and even ash himself had retained a personal following the size most idols would kill for despite his shortcomings. his scandals had toppled fan site after fan site, but new ones sprung up after every comeback knight had without fail. he may not have the squeaky clean image or the enrapturing variety personality, but fans remained, be they attracted to his stage presence, his looks, or the personality bc had crafted for him. more center time and lines in recent comebacks, paired with his successful solo works had landed him with more attention than he’d ever asked for. more than he’d ever wanted.
management had long held the belief that the fan was always right, a twisted and more cruel take on the common rhetoric frequently held to customers. that’s all fans were to companies at the end of the day anyway, machines willing to throw the power that came along with money at any company that could capture them with a different kind of machine. not a music machine or an entertainment machine. no, if they truly cared for selling those things, they’d give their idols more power over their own work and there would be no reason to ban dating within their contracts from the day they stepped into training. he didn’t know what kind of machine he was intended to be, but it wasn’t anything he’d chosen.
at the end of the day, ash was a piece of meat for people to fantasize over, a notion headed by his company but enabled by those who refused to see him as anything else. he couldn’t blame them, could he? he was never supposed to be an artist. he was supposed to be another pretty face in a group of men with pretty faces women and men could imagine dating for a few years until the company moved on to a group with even prettier faces. he was the idea of a boyfriend they’d never get, but had to believe they’d one day obtain for the ruse to work. it was obvious from the post-it notes he was passed during fan signs. he wasn’t asked about the work behind his music or the long hours with aching muscles and bones in the practice room. he was asked about what pet names he’d call a girlfriend or if he’d date the person asking for ten seconds. he was asked to write heart-fluttering words to his fans, not asked about the lyrics he’d poured his whole heart into, where he’d bared uglier parts of his soul.
‘fan’ was a hard word, a relationship decided solely by one side. there were fans that loved the rest of the knight members, but passed by ash with no acknowledgement at fan signs. there were fans that loved ash, but got on social media and lambasted the rest of the group, claiming ash should go solo for good. there were fans who grabbed onto ash’s arm at the airport, leaving fingernail imprints and bruises when his security guard can’t drag them away in time. there were fans who knew ash’s every waking move better than he did, his private schedules and the flights he took mere destinations on their road to invading every part of his life.
but as he finally picked up the camera, he knew, that for all his resentment toward being a public figure, he had a reach to speak to people. he tried to do it through music, but so often, his voice was suffocated and diluted by bc, who chose his most palatable love songs instead. even if only person who listened to him cared about the actual words coming out of his mouth, that was one more person than if he sacrificed his own ideals.
a cover was what was expected from him. the company, his manager, his fans, none of them would be surprised to see that he’d chosen to sing a song as his thank you, but he’d already spent so much time singing someone else’s words like they were his own, so instead, he sat on the seat in front of the window overlooking jeju and turned on the camera before he could fully plan out his thoughts.
ash propped the camera up so that he could see himself in the viewfinder without having the keep holding it up. “hi,” he greeted, forgoing formality as he pulled his feet up onto the side, hugging his knees close to him.
“i... wanted to talk to you all and make sure you’re doing okay. i... you know i can’t know that you are since this is just a video, but i hope everyone is in a place of happiness, or, if you’re not, you’re working toward finding that place. happiness is something that can be hard to find. adulthood is often blamed for pushing happiness aside, but i think it can be a tough thing to find for everyone, regardless of age or circumstance.”
“but more important than being happy is being healthy and at peace with yourself. no one is happy all the time. if they seem like they are, they must be putting a lot of work into looking that way.” ash subconsciously chewed his bottom lip. he had trouble opening up like this, to an inanimate object representing a mass of faceless humans. he wasn’t a good mouthpiece for causes or a leader in any real way, but he had a platform and a responsibility and if he had to say something, he was going to say something he thought couldn’t be said enough.
“may is mental health awareness month back in the u.s., where i’m from. i’m filming this in may, and even though i’m in jeju right now and not america, i hope you’re all taking care of yourselves. it’s hard. i feel like everyone is always asking if everyone else is okay, but it’s okay not to be okay. what matters is the ability to build yourself back up and to find help when that isn’t possible to do on your own. we live like the goal is constant joy. ah, that sounds like it would be nice, wouldn’t it?” ash pulled his hands into the sleeves of his jacket, eyes flickering to the timer on the viewfinder signifying how long he’d been recording. “but it wouldn’t be, not really. don’t ever feel like you’re in the wrong for feeling negative feelings. know that there are other people out there feeling those same feelings, and they’ll understand. i don’t think i’m a good person to get strength from... but if you do find strength from me, i want to be a good strength for you.”
“i also know there are people out there who talk like you should feel guilty if you have to fight your own mind every day, but keep fighting, okay? go see someone who can help you if it feels that all-encompassing and, whether that’s something you face or not, don’t give up. there’s always better days ahead.“ he looked away from the camera, unable to be completely sincere when he himself hadn’t sought help for his depression in a year. he didn’t have time. but they would. they should make time.
“music has been so powerful to me, which is why i decided to do this. i think about you guys whenever we get a new song or when i write a song. is this the kind of message i want to send? is this what i think is important for people to hear?” often, the answer had been no with the music he was forced to sing by his company, songs veering too far into feeding the delusion that he belonged to them, but he didn’t have the power to fight that. “i’m far from perfect, but if i can be someone who means something positive to someone else, then it’s my responsibility to do so, isn’t it?” it was beginning to feel like ash was talking to himself more than the fans that might eventually see the video, so he began to wrap it up before he went too personal.
“i don’t know how to say thank you exactly. but i want to thank everyone who listens to my music and understands by letting you know that i understand, too. life is hard. it wouldn’t be life if it wasn’t, so have strength and carry through. but also know that it’s okay to be weak sometimes. everyone’s weak sometimes. it comes along with being human. treat others well, but in the process, please treat yourself well, too.”
ash gave the camera a nod with a small smile, trying to convey with his eyes a sense of support. for all his hesitance toward many of his fans, a pavlovian response after years of being proven to believe in the worst in people calling themselves fans, everyone deserved to have someone in their corner in the most basic of ways. ash grabbed the camera and fiddled with it before turning it off.
as he set the camera back down on the table, he slouched farther back into the chair. his words had felt so genuine at the time, but now the guilt of insincerity oozed into his body. was it the wrong thing to say so much when he couldn’t take his own advice? was it disingenuous to believe everyone deserved to be loved, except for him?
overthinking, that’s what he was doing again. ash knew it, but it wasn’t his fault. he couldn’t remember the details of everything that he’d said, but he was sure at least one thing could be taken out of context and twisted to paint him in dark shades. all of the dread that had vanished in his momentary sense of purpose had now returned.
but it didn’t matter. he wouldn’t think about that. he had to finish packing.
