it’s an open secret that ki ryujin thoroughly and wholeheartedly loves charm. her manager had even warned her once: “ryujin, you can’t keep promoting charm! you need to give some attention to your labelmates too.” but hey, she can’t help it if she just really, really, really likes their songs. in fact, she even has a special playlist for her favorite charm songs appropriately titled: CHARM MY HEART! (*♡∀♡)

and that is the exact playlist she’s listening to right now, as she waits backstage, for her turn to be called. ooh, she can’t help but let a smile grow on her face when the next song that plays is her all-time favorite: pretty you. she’s trying to keep her cool, bopping her head casually to the music, mouthing the lyrics but it’s when the song hits the chorus that ryujin completely loses herself and without even realising, she starts singing aloud and she’s doing the whole dance. OKAY, there are some parts where she can’t hit the notes so she just. . . very badly attempts to do so and there are some lyrics where she can’t catch her breath fast enough to sing it coherently and there are a few parts where she makes up the words because she’s too busy trying to figure out whether the left leg or right leg goes first

and basically, she’s too preoccupied with her own charm dance party to even realise that someone else had entered the room.

4. what seemingly insignificant memories stuck with your character?

it’s the small moments with unity that stick with jaewon. of course, he can recount every big milestone they reached from award shows to charting positions to personal achievement but there is a wide array of everyday moments with the group that for some reason stayed with him. they’re simple, small things that really hold very little real significance yet when asked about unity, they surface just as quickly and clearly as the monumental ones do. watching daewon and max bicker over small things, the tired but content smile namsoo shoots him after a long but successful day of practice, samsoo fretting in the kitchen about cooking food for 7 guys with seemingly endless appetites, finding blue asleep on the couch, those an many more are all memories that will probably stay printed in jaewon’s mind forever and he wouldn’t want it any other way.

WHAT SEEMINGLY INSIGNIFICANT MEMORIES STUCK WITH YOUR CHARACTER?

     Morning brew of coffee. Dandelions blossoming an array of colors from across the street. Running water rushing silvers. Beat of breaths when chasing after the bus. Nimble touch along the curves of bricks. Hymns of melodies sang by women in the market. Savory taste of another meal given for work. Alcoholic titters shared in a cramped apartment of males. Pain of pinches with taste of vodka following. Breathing fire when hissing from agony of a father’s clench. Needle and thread in loops of motions. Scraped knees and speckles of violets battering pale complexion. Sweet of honey sharing between one’s first kiss. Rouge cheeks with fluttering glee when congratulations spoken by a man above. Drops of rain on arid dermis like a long summer waiting.

xiu had taken dance lessons before. when she was a little girl, her parents placed her in ballet classes and she had stayed there throughout her childhood and the beginning of her adolescence. she’d actually taken the classes up until a year or two before she moved to south korea to become a trainee, so dance classes weren’t really anything new to her. she wasn’t sure why dimensions had suggested she go take some, but she wasn’t going to complain or go against their wishes. she was still a rookie after all and didn’t have much choice in what she did, that was something she had learned fairly quickly. 

the lesson had been going pretty well, the instructor was a good teacher, that was for sure. she was even enjoying herself quite a bit, up until the time she paired them off and had them dance in partners. she was paired up with jihyuk, her brother, q’s, group member, and things had gone downhill ever since then. she gritted her teeth, her toes curling in her shoe. “you stepped on my foot,” she grumbled, her eyes narrowing at him as they moved across the dance floor. would it be incredibly childish of her to retaliate? her the heel of her shoe made contact with his toes. oops, too late.
