It had been some time after he had discovered Rei hadn’t anticipated anything with him. He had instantly gotten the wrong idea, and couldn’t even keep from crying at the idea that maybe, just maybe, Rei didn’t want much to do with him at all. If it truly were just a game to him what was the point of having been up for auction at all? He had even yelled that at him before going off to get some space and had had a little bit of time to recover before his phone sounded. He read the message, frown fixated along his features at the prospect of confrontation.
[Text:] You should be focusing on work, not texting me Rei-kun.
Sighing, he put the phone down, heart sinking into his chest. Maybe he shouldn’t have replied at all.
Fine mess he’d gotten himself into, and now he’s trying to iron out all the wrinkles he’d caused. Rei wouldn’t know how much he’ll be doing, but he’s determined to fix them. Now if only Tsumugi would stop deflecting him like with his reply.
Rei’s lips grumpily pursed to the side as he read Tsumugi’s reply. While Tsumugi did have a very valid point, Rei wasn’t one to give up so easily. He’d gotten a reply, and that’s all the ‘go’ signal he needs.
Taking a full 180 degree sweep of his surroundings, and after finding nothing funny, Rei dialed Tsumugi’s number and waited for him to pick up. He didn’t say anything about ‘not calling’, right?
