A short entry for the third day of @thefugitivedoctorweek2025 fuldilling the prompt "Fob Watch"! It's a little angsty Marchingband (Fugitive/Mels) drabble!

Us and Time

This contains me, the last line of the Doctor's letter echoed in Mels' mind. Tears were burning in her eyes, threatening to fall. Mels didn't let them.

She pressed the Doctor's gift tighter to her chest, wishing it could fracture, break her skin, and become one with her so they would be together forever.

Mels had all of her Doctor now, and yet, if she looked face to face with her again, the Doctor would not recognise her.

"You bloody idiot," Mels cursed, opening her fist to stare at the gift again.

In her palm rested a golden fob watch.

I'm hoping, and I mean hoping, that anyone remembers or recognizes the read I'm about to describe. I barely remember it as it's been years I think? I remember reading it halfway and then exiting Tumblr on accident and never finding it again. 😭

It was a read about Yaz and the Fam looking for the 13th doctor (they looked seemingly everywhere), and they found her working at a library, and found out that she had a fob watch (like 10th) but she lost the fob watch so couldn't remember anything past the fob, HOWEVER when she looked at Yaz she said she'd feel at home or feel safe. So Yaz would keep visiting her at the library to gain her trust and when she did they took a stroll down a woodsy/park/forest type area and that's when the doctor said how she felt safe with Yaz.

THAT'S LITERALLY ALL I REMEMBER SUMMARIZED. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FIC FOR SO LONG AND I WANNA KNOW HOW IT ENDS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I'm on my knees begging 😭 I've asked around when the group chats were a thing and no one knew what I was talking about so now I'm gonna tag every dw tag I can think of under the sun in hopes someone recognizes it

I really loved getting to know this watch!!! It’s so pretty and learning all the shapes I never even noticed were on it was so cool!!!!

I added a picture of the watch unblurred too because I spent a lot of time on it!!! Haha :))
