44 Hull Artificer Apprentices, including four foreign trainees, one each from Fiji, Ghana, Mauritius and Sri Lanka, successfully completed 119 weeks of professional training at INS Vishwakarma on 16 February 2022. Commodore S Sreekumar, Commanding Officer, INS Vishwakarma reviewed the #PassingOutParade. Vice Admiral MA Hampihali, #FOCINC, #SNC visited INS Valsura from 16 to 18 February 2022. During his maiden visit, The #CINC reviewed the state-of-the-art training facilities including the recently commissioned Integrated Final Frontier Test Lab and Internet of Things #IoT lab. He also appreciated the progress on various infrastructure projects in the establishment besides the community welfare measures initiated. He interacted with the "Valsura Parivaar" and complimented them for their admirable role in providing quality training despite the challenges posed by #COVID19. The FOCINC was accompanied by Mrs Madhumati Hampiholi, President NWWA, (SR). Mrs Madhumati Hampiholi reviewed the NWWA facilities and inaugurated Saraswati Block and Activity Room at Naval KG. During the Special Milan, she interacted with all NWWA members and encouraged them to maximise the opportunities provided to them through various skill and professional development courses being organised by NWWA. A four-member delegation headed by Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser bin Mohsin Al Rahbi, Commander, #RoyalNavyofOman (CRNO), visited Headquarters, #WNC, Mumbai from 16 to 17 February 2022. During the visit, the #CRNO called on Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh, #FOCINC, WNC and discussed matters of mutual interest. The two leaders also examined ways of enhancing cooperation in the #maritime domain between the two navies. The delegation visited #MazagonDockShipbuildersLimited and also had an opportunity to visit places of cultural interest in South Mumbai. Rear Admiral Saif Bin Nasser Bin Mohsin Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (CRNO) is on a visit to India. The visit aims to consolidate bilateral relations with #IndianNavy, as also to explore new avenues for defence cooperation. The #CRNO commenced his visit by paying homage at National War Memorial on 14 February 2022. The CRNO was received by Admiral R Hari Kumar, #CNS, at South Block Lawns and was accorded a 50 Men Guard of Honour. Both the Naval Principals held discussions to explore avenues to further enhance cooperation between the Navies. The CRNO will also visit Indian Navy’s #WNC at Mumbai, wherein he would be interacting with the #FOCINC WNC and also visit Indian Naval Ships at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. The first visit of the incumbent CRNO to India, reverberates the growing cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), which include operational interactions, training and exchange of Subject Matter Experts. Both Navies have been participating in the biennial maritime exercise ‘Naseem Al Bahr’ since 1993. This exercise was last conducted in 2020, off Goa and the next edition is scheduled later this year. Four trainee pilots of the 30th Dornier Operational Flying Training Course, including a woman pilot, graduated as 'Fully Operational MR Pilots' at a #PassingOutCeremony held at INS Garuda on 11 February 2022. Commodore Vishal Roy, Commodore (Aviation) was the chief guest for the event and presented awards to the trainee pilots. The course comprised ground training phase, conducted at various professional schools, and flying training at INAS 550. Lieutenant Kashish Vohra was adjudged ‘Best Overall’ and ‘First in Ground' subjects, and Sub Lieutenant Sumnesh Bharti was adjudged ‘First in Flying’. The #FOCINC South rolling trophy in memory of late Lieutenant Simon George Pynomootil for the Most Spirited Trainee' of Dornier Operational Flying Course was awarded to Sub Lieutenant Manoj Kumar.
