Custom art for PDP’s glowing Switch dock ⊟
I’m not yet certain what I would want glowing all the time under my TV -- our own Tiny? Froggy chair? -- but now that’s something I can, and therefore must, think about. Focus Attack is offering custom etched plexi sheets for PDP’s neat LED Switch accessory.
Focus Attack also offers custom etched plexi and perfectly sized artwork for various arcade sticks, which is one of those things that I, an old person, find amazing about the time we live in.

My first Fightstick mod was not a crazy one, but I wanted it to look like it was. *pops collar*
I’m a huge SMT fan, and when I mean huge, I mean it. No series is as deep and rich as the Shin Megami Tensei World but Nocturne has a special place in my heart. It was the first SMT game I ever played (yes, I got started super late) but it was given by a dear friend from high school (Shout out to Tsung!)
So when I got into SF4 heavy, I knew I would have to get a fightstick, but I hated them. The joystick was too loose, the buttons too loud and I hate quad gates. Yes, I’m a punk, but it’s my stick…I do whut I want.
Parts:
Street Fighter 4 TE S Stick Xbox360 – Used (Amazon)
4 Sanwa Two Tone Buttons – Grey/Black 30 mm (Focus Attack)
1 Sanwa Shaft and Dust Washer Set – Clear Smoke (Focus Attack)
8 Button Silence Pad – 30 mm 8 pack (Focus Attack)
1 Balltop Handle – Clear Smoke (Focus Attack) *Note: I don’t think they carry this anymore*
Sanwa Tension Spring – 2 lb (Focus Attack)
Sanwa Oct Gate – GT-Y (Focus Attack)
Mad Catz Plexi – TE-S (Tex Innovations)
Nocturne / Radou Print – Internet (Tek Innovations)
Steps:
Used half of the buttons that came with the stick, popped them all open and replaced the insides with silence pads. Video Here
Removed stock spring and replaced it with heavier spring for more control. Video Here
Replaced Shaft and Dustwasher. Video Here
Remove Quad gate and replace it with Oct gate. Video Here for Insert | Video Here for Gate
Remove Stock Art and remove glue with Goo Gone. Video Here
Get art work double laminated at kinkos. Cut out Button holes and replace with plexi.
And there you have it. One bad ass stick that almost completely customized to my liking and only cost me about 250, including shipping for the parts.

Fight Stick Mod: SMT Nocturne - Lucifer's Stick My first Fightstick mod was not a crazy one, but I wanted it to look like it was.
Guess I've hit the point of no return when it comes to the whole Pony thing. Good thing I stopped caring about that a long time ago, so let's get on with this!
This was a long time coming. Here is an Xbox 360 Mad Catz Arcade Fightstick Tournament Edition Round 1 purchased from a seller on eBay. I then took out the Home/Turbo Panel and cable compartment and put them in a Wii U TE-S case along with the PS360+ from Akishop Customs into, allowing support with 360, PC, PS1, PS2, PS3, Dreamcast, Original Xbox, PS4 (which times out in 8 minutes due to the PS4 checking for a wireless controller despite one being plugged in, but there is a soft reset button combination you can use), Sega Saturn (which requires a small adjustment done to get all the buttons working at the cost of a dedicated Home button, yet Start + Select still works for that), NES/AV Famicom and Super NES/Super Famicom. All interfaced through RJ45 via a Neutrik passthrough and the appropriate cable. Due to the RJ-45 passthrough taking the place the Select/Back Button, I wired that to the otherwise useless Turbo button because the PS360+ doesn’t have that function.
The replacement buttons are your standard Sanwa OBSF 30 and OBSF 24 pushbuttons while the panel bezel and TE sides are from the Mad Catz online store. On the JLF (which is from the original 360 stick), we have an FA Nippon brand translucent purple/blue bi-color balltop, aluminum shaft cover and aluminum dustwasher set and anodized screws from Focus Attack while I swapped out the square restrictor gate with an octagonal one. The Neutrik RJ45 passthrough was also purchased from Focus Attack.
The art pieces were put together by my buddy Arudon using vectors from draco-runan and couldsky on deviantArt (the second link points to Derpibooru because the dA link is dead) and fonts from Dafont while he recreated the Fighting is Magic art because the original picture was too small for the template. These were printed by Art's Hobbies, where I also got the plexiglass pieces. The reason for using the Princess Twilight Sparkle vectors was so my stick would somewhat unique among Pony sticks. I have yet to see any other sticks with Princess Twilight art besides this one so I may be the first on that front.
I have to mention that the original plan was to use a 360 Mad Catz Fightstick Pro and install the Cerberus PCB from PhreakMods into it but I screwed that up so I decided on the PS360+. Due to the multi-console support, I feel it's ultimately for the best. The reason for modding a TE was because of the option to change out the sides and bezel.
I also wanted the art to be Ariel themed but the FiM fanbase is absolutely insane and cranks out super high resolution vector art every minute while there's hardly any good high resolution art of Ariel so I took what was available.
I did eventually get a compatible 360 Mad Catz TE stick and put the Cerberus into it, so that purchase wasn't wasted (even though I spent more money on another stick.
I’m gonna wrap this up and play some arcade games!
Did a gate swap, I really can’t stand square gates for some odd reason, octagon gates is where it’s at :3
Mad Catz Round 1 TE Stick (REMIX)

Re-did my Round 1 TE Stick a while back with the TE-S Wooden Sides from FocusAttack.com.
Basically my intent was to sort of keep the look & feel of the TE-S sides but add a wood texture for a more natural (male) enhancement. I felt that the wood flows pretty well coupled with my Alpha/Young Ryu template that I've been using. I took the TE-S sides and using a propane torch burned the wood grain. Then I sanded them down to get rid of the char and ash. What you're left with is a really cool, "old" and aged look. Then I taped off the burned portions to fill & paint all of the angled portions flat black. This way when you're looking that the stick from a top-down view the now painted black portions flow with the control panel. After painting all of the angles black I stained the burned portions with a cherry wood varnish.
