A part of Southern Brewing Company’sSouthern Woodpile Series is their Foeder Bier. A well rounded wild ale, it is aged in Georgia’s first oak foeder with a variety of native yeasts, bacteria, fruits, and herbs. It is considered their interpretation of a Southern Wild Ale. We enjoyed it on our overgrown Georgia lawn in the wet humid august afternoon. Perfect tartness and slight funk really cut through the southern heat of the day. Shout out to my bro, Matt, for the special help with the pouring.

Well, well. Look who got a foeder? Twisted Trunk, Palm Beach brewery and sister to long-standing Tequesta Brewing has a foeder (they use the French spelling on foudre) they are starting to use in some of their beers.
