More Fear of being a Muslim who fulfils his duties than of being a Contemporary “sheep” trying to fit in and follow the crowd?
Why is it that we have more fear of being a Muslim who is trying to fulfil his most basic duties than trying so hard and relentlessly to follow the latest trends and be someone who we are not, just so we can fit in?
Does it make any sense? Of course not, but who does anything these days just because it makes any sense right? In the name of modernity, freedom of speech, human rights and the ‘no one can judge me, it’s a free country and i can do what i like’ mentality has given us the ‘right’ to accept excuses for not fulfilling our basic Islamic duties just because we live in a society where it is not our own country, customs and cultures therefore trying to fit and blend in is more important.
Little do we know that if we stuck to fulfilling our Islamic duties properly and with knowledge, we would not only be fitting in and fitting in well, we would also stop worrying about following the crowd and being mindless materialistic sheep. Because the beauty of Islam is that it was not made to make our lives hard, but rather to make life easier for us. It was created to give us a direction and to lead us to everything that is right.
