Lift Me Up (2022) | Art Installation/Sculpture by J. Bonegard. 'Lift Me up', is a follow-up to the earlier, medicine-inspired piece, titled, 'The Art of Transfusion', video of which is available on YouTube. In addition to the works of abstraction that have come to define the artist, @J.Bonegard, art installations are another dimension to the artist's ongoing creative journey. The three separable components of the artpiece are loosely held in a state of balance, using the weight of one of the two oblique pieces to balance the other out. It is indeed an exercise in equilibrium. The featured photograph of the work, a triumvirate construct, is an example of how the artist continues to evolve, using the prior experience in the practice of surgery. The artwork, created using several disused orthopedic crutches, is another example of the artist's commitment to recycling, in this instance, using reclaimed disposable medical supplies for artistic purposes. The title of the work, 'Lift me Up', is a metaphor for the challenging moments in life, when one could benefit from the support of others, to better endure the storm.
