Year old sketches of the Fool’s Helper boys that I never posted on here.
Brian very close in going off the deep end (Anise will reel him back in, don’t worry) and Lee needing a thesaurus because you can only write “cock” so many times in a romance novel, right? (he’s just overthinking it)
Fool’s Helper is a short slice-of-life otome that’s already available on itch.io for free!
Back in February, Nanami released a Spanish patch for Fool’s Helper. Unfortunately, my hectic school schedule prevented me from making an official build with her translation right away...
However, it’s finally here! An official Spanish Fool’s Helper release is now available to download! (The GUI menus are still in English though)

this is perfect oh my god i love everything about it <3 and thank god for Anise LOL I can't stop imagining that Lee's sex scenes are like this ( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/books/authors/morrissey-sex-scene-list-of-the-lost/ )
Yes, thank god for Anise! And Lee’s writing isn’t as bad as that (oh god) At least by the end of Fool’s Helper, Anise helps him out of the worst of his bad writing habits LOL
(You don’t need a walkthrough; choose your guy, then either flirt or don’t for the romantic or friendship ending)
Fool’s Helper is an absolutely adorable visual novel by Something Ventured Games! The artwork and characters are so cute, and the game is equal parts cute and hilarious. It’s a pretty short game with only a few choices, but it doesn’t feel rushed and the writing is really good.
The premise of the game is that the (nameable) protagonist is just a normal woman trying to prepare for your slightly-crazy boss’ birthday party for her cat when you bump into two different guys who are both slightly... Eccentric. Intrigued by both of them, she can pick one guy to help out with his rather excessive behavior, either as a friend or maybe as something more.
Just cute fluff here, nothing to worry about.
Read about the characters below the cut!
Brian: Prince Type/Emotional Type
Poor Brian. In a medieval setting, he’d woo all the neighboring kingdom’s princesses with his grandiose romantic gestures and manners. Unfortunately, in a modern day city, he’s pretty much just a weirdo who makes women uncomfortable with his unnerving level of melodrama. And he is melodramatic, with his intense emotional outbursts as he swings wildly between miserable self-loathing and childlike jubilation. With seemingly no filter (at least initially), Brian definitively wears his heart on his sleeves. It’s down to the protagonist to get his behavior in check, at least initially so he can try to win back the heart of a woman who he drove away with his eccentricity.
Lee: Awkward Type
Lee comes across as weird at best and kind of scary at worst when observed from afar. Stalking through the romance section of the book shop, rifling through the books with his face permanently set in a frown, he initially seems like an intimidating sight. However, actually talking to him quickly proves that he’s just a really awkward person, acutely embarrassed by his efforts to write a romance novel that he believes is terrible. The protagonist, a “romance connoisseur” herself, resolves to help Lee with his novel and helps him overcome his nervousness about writing in the process... Although his adorable tomato-red face never completely fades away.
