Hello
Stable
Ok ok ok. I don’t ever write Star Wars stories, so this is a first, and probably a last, because I am not super good at it, and this is a Narnia blog. I just wrote it for Hazel. I know it’s a little rushed and a wee bit unrealistic, but if this were realistic it would take 10 chapters to make it good. So here it is. For you Hazel, I love you.
The sound of thick metallic anger lingered throughout the whole hangar bay and one thing became very clear to everyone on board: Kylo Ren was having another tantrum. They were quite a regular occurrence, but that did not stop everyone from being completely afraid of Kylo when he had these violent moments. This all excluded General Hux, who found Kylo’s tantrums to be exceptionally irritating.
The command shuttle suddenly became very quiet and all eyes averted towards General Hux; he was the one who usually calmed down Kylo. A loud, exasperated sigh willingly left Hux’s lips. You looked up from your control panel and watched as Hux pressed his fingers to his temples and rubbed quite hard. You tapped your fingers on the panel for a moment, wondering how Hux was going to handle Kylo today. Hux was clearly running out of patience.
“I cannot deal with Kylo. Not today.” He muttered helplessly, shaking his head. Hux glanced forward and his eyes landed on you. “General Hazel.”
Your spine involuntarily straightened and your mouth went dry. “Yes, General?”
“Deal with Kylo. Don’t come back until he is stable.” Hux ordered, waving his hand in dismissal.
“Yes sir.” You replied, sounding most certain, but feeling the complete opposite.
You knew Kylo, but you didn’t know Kylo. You had been apart of the First Order for years, so Kylo was very present in your life. You had actually spoken quite often, but all those times being very professional. You hadn’t even seen Kylo without his mask on. You had occasionally overheard a few things from Hux, as he did have the habit to mumble when he was stressed. Deep down you knew that Kylo had deeper secrets not even Hux knew.
You kept your face inexplicably straight until you reached the corridor, where your lips turned up into a smile. For some reason, even unknown to yourself, you were excited to see Kylo. To be alone with him. Even if he was raging. The thought that your life was in possible danger didn’t even phase you.
As you turned the corner, the screaming was now very near. You could clearly pick out which room he was in. You paused in your steps. Your fingers tapped your thigh and your tongue ran over your lips nervously. You just then contemplated what exactly you were going to say to the emotionally unstable man raging in the room just down the hallway from you. Not a sentence could compose in your mind.
You gritted your teeth. I am not afraid of Kylo Ren.
You forced yourself into the room. The scene you saw next was horrifying. Kylo was shouting inaudible, vicious words, and his crackling red light saber found home to the many different control panels. Sparks flew just passed your face as you cautiously watched everything unfold. Without warning, Kylo stopped, his lightsaber sinking back down, and his back lurched forward. He knew of your presence.
Everything in your body told you to run, but something, maybe curiosity, caused you stay perfectly solid. Kylo slowly turned from the now destroyed panels, and faced you. You couldn’t tell where his eyes were, for his mask was a dark void of questions to you. Kylo did not speak a word, only raised his hand, causing the door behind you to close.
You swallowed hard.
“General Hux sent you. Did he not?” He spoke through gritted teeth.
You carefully nodded. “Yes sir, he did.”
The air was thick and your mind was foggy.
Kylo began to circle around you. “It seems he thinks that you, a mere General, could calm me. He would be mistaken.”
You felt insulted, and before you could stop it, your face expressed this hurt. You narrowed your eyes at Kylo, trying to contort the previous emotion. “Sir. I am not allowed to leave-”
“Until I am stable.” Kylo halted behind you. “I know what you are thinking Hazel. I know what you want. I know what you need.”
Your breath shifted in your throat. You were not going to let Kylo get to you. He had gotten to everyone else on board, and in that moment, you refused to do the same.
You then did something that surprised Kylo. You turned to face him yourself, now only inches from him. Even though he towered over you, you stood impeccably tall.
“If I may be so bold, Kylo, I would advise you not to get into my head.” You stated with an edge cutting in your voice.
Without warning, Kylo’s hand went to your jaw. He firmly held you, sinking his fingers into you. His skin on your skin caused you to feel weak.
“Why is that? You think I can’t? You think I am not powerful enough?” His hand fell down to your neck. You shivered.
“I never said that.”
Kylo whisked away, pacing in the opposite direction. His aura only drew you in and you watched him intently. “Your words betray you.” Kylo seethed,”I know you think me a coward, hiding behind this mask. That you long to see who I truly am.”
“T-Then why don’t you show me.” You asked bravely, stepping towards him. Kylo sent his hand forward and your limbs solidified. Without the ability to move, Kylo neared you once more.
“If I did, I would no longer be Kylo Ren to you.”
Your head tilted in the slightest and you narrowed your eyes. You studied Kylo for a moment, trying to uncover his words, his thoughts. “You think yourself to be a coward too. You are hiding.” Kylo’s force on your weakened. You advanced towards him. “You are suffering. I can tell Kylo Ren. What are you so afraid of?”
What Kylo did next surpassed every answer you desired: he impulsively took off his mask.
“I am afraid of this. This monster behind this mask!”
His voice came out vicious, but hidden behind it was a pain you never knew existed in such a hardened man. His eyes were inexplicably dark, as was his long hair. His cheekbones were defined and his lips pressed together. His eyes now looked at you with such helplessness.
“Kylo, you aren’t a monster-”
“What do you know? You don’t know what I’ve done. What they plan for me to do.” He said, his teeth flaring.
You caught something. “They?” You questioned.
A deep breath left Kylo’s lips and he backed away. “I’ve told you too much.”
Without a conscious thought, you leaned forward and grasped Kylo’s arm. Defensively Kylo grabbed your arm roughly and pulled you towards him, but he stopped, realizing what he had done. You winced at his grip.
“Kylo, you can trust me.” You said softly, his hands still on you.
Kylo’s eyes rested on yours and somehow, no matter how foolish it seemed, he knew he could.
“Its Snoke. He’s asking of me, something I just can’t do.”
This stumped you. Kylo seemed capable of almost anything. “What is it?”
All tension left Kylo and he went quiet.
“I have to kill my father.” He finally said, his eyes averting to the floor.
Your body went cold. A million questions entered your mind all at once, but not one left your mouth. A sudden feeling of guilt came over you. Kylo was hiding. And he could not escape.
“Promise me. You have to promise me not to say a word. Not even to Hux.” Kylo insisted, almost desperately.
You looked at him gently. “Kylo, I promise.”
Everything hung in the air for just a moment, until Kylo’s grip fell from your body and he stepped back, placing the mask back on his face.
“General Hazel, please inform General Hux that I am stable.” Kylo instructed, all sincerity now drained.
You nodded, feeling slightly discouraged. “Yes sir.”
You entered the corridor and the door once more closed behind you. At that moment you realized you knew more about Kylo Ren than most people in the galaxy did. You had seen more than just Kylo Ren. You had seen behind the mask. And you felt sorry for the man behind the mask.
When you reappeared back into the command shuttle, you were still invested in your thoughts, only to be interrupted by Hux.
“General Hazel?” He questioned, with an arched eyebrow.
You took a seat back at your assigned panel and nodded. “Stable, sir.”
It rippled through my body and shook my bones. My lungs ached in the cruelest way. I gritted my teeth to suppress my anguished screams. And then all at once, my eyes opened.
The Unplanned Arrangement
Dedicated to Aurora and Hazel
The last thing you wanted was a husband. You were completely content with living your life without being owned by a man. You actually despised the idea of marriage. Sadly, politics can cause trouble. Your parents insisted that a marriage between a King of Narnia and royal blood of Archenland, that being yourself, would tighten the bond between the two lands and help your kingdom become stronger. High King Peter agreed upon the idea, realizing the potential growth of armies and land that could be accumulated through the joining of the kingdoms. You were to be married to King Edmund.
By the day of your wedding you hadn’t even met King Edmund. As you rushed down the many intricate hallways of Cair Paravel, your wedding gown ruffling behind you, a thought struck you: you would be spending the rest of your life with this young man that you didn’t even know. You immediately stopped in your tracks as everything dawned on you. You pressed yourself against the stone wall as other voices lingered down the corridor. As you listened you could only come to the conclusion that it was Edmund and probably one of his sisters speaking.
