Sitting down on the green grass I wrote. I wrote in my diary about these strong emotions that were hard to control otherwise. I was trusted to make a plan for the upcoming battle against the Telmarine and their evil king. Yet my emotions were getting the best of me. Due to me being more of a high rank working along the kings and queens of Narnia I have become close to them. I see them as a friend which is highly inappropriate. Yet they treat me as a friend as well. Especially King Edmund and Queen Lucy.
I took a deep breath in and slowly let it out. The smell of the forest calming down my racing heart. The thought of King Edmund was definitely more than a friendly one no matter how hard I tried not to. He was the one I was closest to, for we would stick around each other like glue. I was able to come out here without anyone noticing me. Mainly to write into my diary, but also to gather my thoughts.
I know people think diaries are dumb. 'Why would you put your deepest secret's on paper for all to read?' One reason, that being it cleared my mind. It was like getting a weight lifted off my chest. Sad? I'll write down why and not have to bother anyone. I'm madly in love with the King of Narnia? I'll write it down so the urge to blabber it to someone would leave.
I stopped writing, finishing the passage with a 'see you next time old friend'. I closed the leather bound book and looked up at the blue sky above me. Writing did help me, yet my thoughts are still slightly cluttered. I found a way to think of nothing yet everything at the same time. I was snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of feet approaching me. I glanced to my left to see sweet Queen Lucy smiling at me.
"There you are!" She exclaimed running up to me. "We got worried when we couldn't find you!"
"I'm sorry to worry you my queen," I said bowing my head.
"How many times do I have to tell you to just call me Lucy?" She said with a slight pout. "What are you doing out here anyways?"
I looked back up at the sky before saying, "I needed to clear my mind, get some fresh air."
She sat down next to me, "What's on your mind? You can tell me! I'm good at keeping secrets!"
I looked back at the young girl and smiled. She was such a sweetheart.
"I'm not sure if I should," I said nervously.
"Pleaseeeeeee," She whined out giving me puppy dog eyes. I looked away, the urge to tell someone how I feel greater than ever now. I let out a sigh hoping to Aslan that I don't regret what I'm about to do.
Opening the brown book in my hands I flipped to the last page I wrote in. I pointed out the paragraph for her to read and fidgeted with my hands as she did so. Each word she read she seemed to brighten up more and more. It honestly seemed like she was about to explode with happiness. Once she finished she looked at me with a bright gleam in her eyes.
"Please don't tell anyone qu- Lucy," I begged with desperation clear in my eyes.
"You should tell him!" She squealed out with a bright smile.
"He's a king! Of Narnia!" I exclaimed with a bright blush. "He's from another world, it would never work."
She frowned, "You can always try."
I frowned as well and looked down at the grass we were currently sitting on, I raked my hands through it thinking everything over. I could try, for however much time left we could make memories that would last forever. I bit my lip feeling overwhelmed by the situation.
"There you two are!" Exclaimed the familiar voice of King Edmund. "Why didn't you come tell me you found her Lucy? I was getting worried something happened to the both of you."
I felt my eyebrows raise and my cheeks flush hot. He just cared about me as a friend...or an important part of the war, nothing more. He looked over at me and his chocolate brown eyes looked so warm I felt like I was melting. The freckles that littered his cheeks so prominent against his pale complexation. His dark brown hair looking soft as ever. His plump lips- NO! I shouldn't think about those things.
I heard Lucy giggle causing me to look away from the small staring contest first. She winked at me and left causing my heart to beat faster, scenarios running wild through my mind. I kept my stare on the ground below us, not trusting myself to look back into his eyes.
"Hello my king," I spoke out softly. "I hope Lucy and I did not worry you too much." I glanced up and saw a fiery blush make its way onto his face before I looked back down.
"Wh-what were you two talking about?" He asked walking closer to where I stood.
I felt myself fluster, not knowing what to say "You," I blurted out like an idiot. I looked off to the left noticing that Lucy was watching us. Edmund and I were just friends, so why was there so much tension between us?
"All good I hope," He joked, now standing right next to me.
I let out a slight laugh and nodded, "All good."
"I've read it," He blurted out causing me to look up at him in horror. There's only one thing that could mean. He's read my diary, the things I held closest to my heart. "I-I didn't mean to, I thought it was just a normal story and continued to read, but I realized a little to late it was your story."
My heart was racing and my hands were shaky. My body felt weak and I felt dizzy. No, no he can't know. The slight confidence that Lucy helped me gain vanished in that instant. I put a hand to my head stumbling back slightly still not comprehending it. You may think that it's not a big deal, that I'm over reacting. Try to understand how someone you care about opened you up and read you just like a book, that they now know you much better than you wished they did.
I felt him hold me up gently and help me sit on the ground. So many emotions were running through me at the same time, I don't know how to react.
"I-I'm really sorry (y/n)," He said quietly, voice slightly cracking.
I looked over at him and noticed that he seemed close to tears, "It's...it's fine." I took in a deep breath, trying to calm myself. "H-how far did you get?" I asked, my voice sounding shaky.
"Far enough to...to know how you feel about me," He blushed glancing off to the side. I felt my heart drop, literally.
"I-I'm sorry King Edmund," I spouted out frantically. "I know it's inappropriate and I shouldn't feel the way I do!" I felt like crying, my eyes watering. I placed my head in my hands, hoping I could shield myself from his rejection.
"I love you (y/n)," Edmund said. Those four words seemed to stop the world. He grabbed my hands revealing my face, a few stray tears falling down my cheeks. I looked at him with wide eyes and my mouth hung slightly open. "I want to be with you for as long as possible."
The space between us was suddenly gone as he put his lips onto mine. It was a slow and passionate kiss expressing our feelings we held for each other. I put one of my hands on his neck trying to bring him even closer if that's even possible. We pulled apart slowly, not rushing to open our eyes. I looked over his beautiful face once more, it seemed even more breathtaking up close.
Anonymous requested: Imagine being bff with the Pevensie girls and the boys both having a crush on you
At this time of year the air would just begin to turn a brisk cold and everyone surrounding the train station would pull their collars up and hold a little tighter to their coats. This all meant one thing: School was starting again. An exasperated sigh slipped through Edmund’s lip as he swung a scratchy scarf around his exposed neck, taking a long gaze around the busy street
“It doesn’t look that bad.” Peter teased, placing a black hat on his head.
Edmund scrunched his nose in annoyance,”It looks ridiculous. These school uniforms are horrible.”
Peter then began rambling, on the contrary, about how it was ridiculous that a King would need to go to secondary school, which at that point, Edmund tuned out. His attention then averted towards giggling coming from the other side of the road. He spotted Susan and Lucy innocently standing next a newspaper stand, smiling about something not aware to Edmund. His eyes then landed on you and his question was answered.
Susan and Lucy had been very good friends with you for years now. You would occasionally visit the Pevensie home to read or go on walks with Susan and Lucy. Whenever you were around the Peter and Edmund they seemed oddly competitive. You only suspected this was testosterone or some stupid bet. Yet, you couldn’t hide from the fact that Peter and Edmund were both exceptionally handsome.
Since the war had plagued the lives of yourself and the Pevensie’s, you hadn’t seen them in months.
“You don’t suppose Rupert will come around here to stalk you, do you Susan?” You questioned, raising an eyebrow in a devilish manner.
Susan’s eyes enlarged and her teeth tightened. “For heavens sake (Y/N), don’t say his name out loud!”
You and Lucy both broke into laughter as Susan’s cheeks continued to burn a perfect pink.
“Who’s name?” Lucy spoke up,”Rupert? Oh you mean the Rupert you love to talk to?”
Susan shoved the newspaper at Lucy, squealing,”Oh Lucy, would you hush!”
The corners of your mouth pulled upward; you missed these two very much. You unexpectedly turned, when something caught your attention in the road. It was a hand waving on the other side of the street. It was Edmund Pevensie.
You waved back, only, you could barely see him through all the passing traffic. Your hand slowly came back down to your side and you sighed.
Edmund from the other side of the road was watching you closely. He hadn’t seen you in months. He missed seeing your smile around his home and your voice occasionally speaking his name.
“Edmund, are you listening?”
Edmund blinked a few times, realizing he was staring. He brought his attention back towards Peter, who had his arms folded in disapproval.
Edmund chewed on the inside of his lip,”Oh sorry, was just distracted.”
Peter’s eyebrows narrowed and he leaned forward,”What were you looking at anyway-” he paused, and a slight smirk played at his lips. He straightened his back and folded his arms now in a cocky manner. “Oh I see. You were looking over at (Y/N).”
Edmund shot back immediately,”Was not!”
“Oh, so I suppose you were staring at Susan and Lu?” Peter stated in his matter of fact tone, that sent Edmund’s teeth gritting. “Well in that case, I’m a little bit worried about where your mind is at-”
“Alright, alright. I was looking at (Y/N).” Edmund admitted, shoving Peter out of his almighty stance.
Peter tapped his foot against the sidewalk. “Well, you know I fancy her.”
Edmund’s eyes dropped. He rubbed his neck softly. “Yes, I know Peter.” Deep down Edmund knew he had no chance against Peter, who was taller, handsomer, braver, and in general just better.
“I think this competition has been going on long enough.” Peter concluded.
Edmund nodded silently.
“So you better go over there and talk to her, before I do.” Peter said, after a short silence.
Edmund’s head snapped up and he almost didn’t believe his ears. Was Peter letting Edmund have a head start?
Peter grinned at Edmund’s reaction, and lightly shoved him forward,”Yeah, you’ll owe me later. Now hurry up, before the train comes.”
“Thanks Pete.” Edmund said, finding safe passage across the road. When he reached you, he was no longer cold, his cheeks felt hot.
“(Y/N)! Hello, how are you?”
Edmund appeared in front of you, and you couldn’t stop your eyebrows from raising. “Ed-, I uh mean, Edmund.” You bit your lip hard, realizing you had just called him by a nickname that wasn’t rightfully yours.
Edmund smiled lightly. “No, please, call me Ed.”
You returned the smile and were left short of words.
Edmund cleared his throat,”Um, well, this is a little random, but would you like me to walk you to your train? I know you have the tendency to get lost.”
“Oh do I?” You huffed. You fell into step with Edmund as you both advanced towards the inside of the train station.
Edmund’s shoulders rubbed against yours. “Don’t worry, I have the tendency of getting lost too.”
“Well perfect.” You said, glancing up at Edmund. “Two people who both get lost easily, looking for the right train. This should be quite an adventure.”
Edmund’s eyes met yours and he smirked. “Indeed it shall.”
The last thing you wanted was a husband. You were completely content with living your life without being owned by a man. You actually despised the idea of marriage. Sadly, politics can cause trouble. Your parents insisted that a marriage between a King of Narnia and royal blood of Archenland, that being yourself, would tighten the bond between the two lands and help your kingdom become stronger. High King Peter agreed upon the idea, realizing the potential growth of armies and land that could be accumulated through the joining of the kingdoms. You were to be married to King Edmund.
By the day of your wedding you hadn’t even met King Edmund. As you rushed down the many intricate hallways of Cair Paravel, your wedding gown ruffling behind you, a thought struck you: you would be spending the rest of your life with this young man that you didn’t even know. You immediately stopped in your tracks as everything dawned on you. You pressed yourself against the stone wall as other voices lingered down the corridor. As you listened you could only come to the conclusion that it was Edmund and probably one of his sisters speaking.
“Susan, please understand, I can’t do this.”
“Ed, you are being selfish. Think of the kingdom. Think of Narnia.”
A loud breath escaped Edmund’s lips. “I don’t even know her. She doesn’t know me. I will not marry her.”
Your body grew cold and your cheeks grew hot. Tears dared to spill over, but you brushed them away. You would not cry over this.
“It’s time. Please behave like the King you are Edmund.”
As the wedding ceremony began, you feared that King Edmund would not live up to his painted portraits. When you reached Edmund at the end of the throne room, those fears were replaced with new ones; he was exceedingly handsome.
The ceremony felt like a blur. Edmund barely looked at you, and unconsciously your jaw tightened in anger. How dare your parents make you marry a stranger.
In the midst of your anger you hadn’t realized the that all eyes had landed on you. You blinked multiple times and swallowed. You averted your gaze towards Edmund’s and his eyebrows raised in the slightest.
“I-I do.” You stuttered.
Edmund sighed, and also repeated the vow. Before you had a moment to take in what had happened, your lips were on Edmund’s. Only for seconds before he pulled away, pressing his lips together. It was nothing like you had imagined a wedding kiss to be like. No spark. No feeling. Nothing. On the inside, you felt humiliated. On the outside, you just forced your lips into a smile.
Later that night, you found yourself in a bedroom with Edmund. You were in no way prepared for this, and Edmund didn’t seem so either. You pulled on your night gown tightly and watched Edmund as he slowly buttoned up his night shirt. Edmund glanced up from his shirt and looked at you. His eyes were piercing. His deep brown eyes were indescribable. Something you noticed immediately. You hands begin to shake.
He cleared his throat. “I know what it is…expected on a wedding night-”
“It’s okay.” You interrupted, arising from the bed quickly. You paused, and swallowed the lump in your throat. “You don’t have to pretend to love me.”
Edmund’s eyebrows raised and he stepped forward defensively. “No,(y/n), I didn’t mean it like that.”
You mirrored his step, but backwards, and smiled weakly. “Edmund. I know. I understand.”
An exasperated sigh left Edmund’s lips and he ran his fingers through his hair. “I just don’t know how I got wrapped up in this. I know it’s for the best but-”
“We don’t know each other.” You finished.
Edmund nodded. “Exactly.”
You bit inside of our cheek. You had come to a conclusion. “Well, for the good of both kingdoms we will need to make this work. But that doesn’t mean you have to fall in love with me. Or that I need to fall in love with you.”
“That won’t be a problem.” Edmund stated briskly. You thought his comment wouldn’t sting, but it felt like a thorn pressed into your side and you had to suppress the wince that would’ve so easily surfaced. Without another word Edmund traveled to the canopy bed and tucked himself into the far right hand side. You uncertainly crawled into the far left side of the bed, and turned away from Edmund. You pulled the thick cover to your chin and debated how the could have gone. You shook your head. Fall in love? No thank you. You’d much rather fall asleep.
A few weeks passed, and marriage with Edmund seemed so normal. You didn’t even feel married. Other than sitting by each other during meals and sleeping in the same room, nothing changed. There was an undeniable problem you found though. You started to like Edmund…more than just a friend. The way he talked about something he loved, made your body shiver. His eyes would light up and he would begin talking faster. He would lick his lips and use his hands to animate his thoughts. You also adored the way he would run his fingers through his hair when he felt stressed. You were noticing the little things and you couldn’t deny the feelings that sneakily crept into you.
Edmund’s feelings towards you were conveyed as neutral, but as you both spent the following weeks together, Edmund could neither deny the smile that unconsciously pulled at his lips whenever he made you laugh. You had sort of a goofy laugh, but Edmund didn’t care. And the way your lips moved when you spoke, made Edmund feel weak.
The weather was exceedingly violent one weary night, and all the Pevensie’s found themselves huddled around the dining table, sipping at hot soup. Lucy was telling a story about Aslan. She seemed to always come back to Aslan. Lucy’s face gleamed as she exuberantly continued the story, and your amusement clearly showed on your features. You took a moment to glance at Edmund, but found he was already looking at you. A red blush rushed to your cheeks and Edmund smirked at you. You tore your gaze from Edmund and brought it to your soup, shaking your head.
As the night came to an end you crawled into bed, cringing at every crackle of thunder. Lighting made you jump. At dinner you could hide your fear of storms, but you couldn’t now. Edmund noticed. Without warning, you felt arms wrap around your waist. Your body went still as Edmund held you close to his body. He tucked his chin into your shoulder, and you felt yourself melt into him.
“It’s alright (y/n).” He whispered, his breath running down your neck.
Your body steadied and you intertwined your fingers in his. Your eyes slowly closed and your breath fell into staccato with Edmund’s. Edmund ran his thumb over your palm over and over again. Sleep fell over you like warm wave, and you slept like you had never before.
Light streaks of sun ran through the curtain and illuminated your face. You awoke gently, finding yourself still entangled in Edmund. The events from last night flooded over you and it caused you to grin, squeezing Edmund’s arm. That received small groan from Edmund’s lips as he also awoke.
“I want you to meet Phillip.” Edmund stated abruptly, his voice coming out huskily.
“Phillip?” You questioned, coming up onto your elbow.
Edmund ran his fingers through his disheveled hair and nodded. “He’s quite the gentlemen. Would you like to meet him?”
You giggled, imagining some man servant. “Sure Edmund.”
When Edmund led you out to the stables, you suddenly became confused.
“Is Phillip…human?” You wondered aloud, cautiously following Edmund into the stables.
Edmund cracked a laugh. “Well, he likes to think he is.”
Edmund came to a halt at the second to last stable, and knocked. “Oh Phillip, there is someone I’d like you to meet.”
Suddenly a beautiful horse came into your vision. It’s hair was a soft auburn and it’s features were comical. He huffed his lips at Edmund, shaking his mane.
“Phillip, this is (y/n). (y/n), this is Phillip.” Edmund formerly introduced you to his horse, giving obvious hand gestures.
You curtsied in your dress,”Nice to meet you, Phillip.”
“Pleasure.” He mumbled, almost sarcastically.
“Do you want to ride him with me?” Edmund offered, opening the stall door. “I mean I’ve never let anyone ride Phillip, so it’s a bit of an honor really.”
You rolled in your eyes and shoved passed him,”Oh I’d be honored, King Edmund.”
Edmund gripped your waist and helped you up onto Phillip. “But of course, Queen.” He said, pulling himself up behind you.
He grasped you hands, then gripped the reins, so you were both in control. “Phillip. You know where to go.” Edmund commanded.
The horse ride was breathtaking. You went across the calm beach, then passed through the forest near Cair Paravel, then found yourselves near a large willow tree. This tree was unlike any tree you’d seen. It was larger than the other trees and it’s branches swayed almost rhythmically. It’s leaves were a soft green and it’s bark was fresh, firm.
Edmund helped you down from the horse, and led you over to the trunk of the tree. Edmund sat first, then tugged you down in front of him, pulling his arms around your waist.
You sighed in satisfaction, admiring the surroundings.“You sure do know how to plan, Edmund Pevensie.” You stated, leaning your head on his chest.
“Well (y/n) Pevensie, you’ll find that I am full of surprises.” Edmund replied, rubbing his thumb over your palm.
You leaned up slightly and looked carefully at Edmund. Then you did the simplest thing: you pulled his neck forward and kissed him. His lips were just as soft as they were on the day of your wedding, but this kiss felt different. His lips pressed against yours with more passion and meaning. It finally felt right.
When your lips parted after a while, his nose rested on yours, and words just fell out of your mouth.
“Edmund Pevensie, I have fallen in love with you.”
Edmund cupped your cheek and smirked playfully. “Well, you are my wife after all, Mrs. Pevensie.”

-Modern AU-
A metallic urgency rang through your ears and your eyes shot open sooner than you would’ve preferred. You blindly reached to your dresser to silence the ever blaring alarm. Once you had completed that task you couldn’t help but feel exhausted still. Your eyes unconsciously slipped closed and there would be no alarm to wake you up this time.
You swore sourly.
You instantly pushed yourself out of bed, realizing you had fallen back to sleep. Edmund would be home soon and you promised him you’d make him his favorite food. You pulled one of Edmund’s sweaters over your head and ran, slightly slipping, into the kitchen. You swallowed the lump in your throat and urgently snatched brownie mix from the pantry.
Once the brownies had been placed in the oven, you ripped open the fridge, searching for anything that could possibly make Edmund’s favorite soup. Your fingers fumbled with carrots and potatoes. You didn’t want to disappoint Edmund. You promised. You gritted your teeth; Edmund would be so sad.
Your attention averted towards the kitchen window as you noticed a black car crawling up the driveway.
You froze for just a moment, trying to figure out how to pull your life together in the next twenty seconds. Your breath hitched in your throat as the garage door opened and loud steps echoed into the kitchen.
As soon as Edmund entered the kitchen, words just sputtered out of your mouth,“Ed, I’m so sorry. I know I promised you your favorite soup, but I accidentally slept in, because it was such a long day at work. I have some brownies in the oven, and if you give me twenty minutes I’ll have dinner ready-”
“You’re wearing my sweater.”
Your eyebrows narrowed and you took a step back, clearly confused. “W-What?”
Edmund just smirked, completely unfazed by the fact that dinner wasn’t ready and the house was a mess. He just looked at you like you were the only thing he wanted. “You’re wearing my sweater. I really like it on you.”
You licked your lips, unsure what to say. “I-uh.”
Edmund chuckled,“I’ll be right back.”
Edmund headed towards your room that you both shared, and you spun back towards the counter. You continued cutting carrots faster than what is safe, but you were stopped by arms wrapping around your waist.
An inescapable smile pulled at your lips and you dropped the knife. “Edmund I have to finish this.”
Edmund placed his chin on the crook of shoulder, and his breath tickled your neck as he spoke. “ I don’t need a dinner. Stop working so hard. I just want to be with you.” He pleaded and began kissing your neck softly; you giggled. You bit your lip and turned towards Edmund, realizing he had changed into loose sweat pants and a red sweater. There was something about Edmund in casual clothes that was so attractive.
Edmund pressed you against the counter and gently placed his hand on your jaw. Edmund lips were soft, as they always were, and his hands were careful. Edmund was always so gentle with you. His lips pressed against yours with such excitement. You grabbed his hand and pulled one arm over his neck for balance. You broke away from the kiss after a few minutes and realized dark circles under Edmund’s eyes.
“Edmund, you look exhausted, maybe you should go to bed while I clean up.” You suggested, turning back towards the kitchen counter, stacking some dishes.
“Not a chance.” Edmund said, swiftly picking you up and taking you over to the couch. He set you down and the smirk reappeared.
“What?” You asked, slightly out of breath.
Edmund’s eyebrow raised mischievously and without consent he began ticking you. You screamed,“Ed! Please, no I hate tickling!”
Edmund chuckled,“You owe me love!”
You squirmed as he continued to tickle your sides and you giggled so hard that your stomach hurt. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”
Edmund paused,“Sorry for what?”
“I’m sorry for not making you your favorite soup!” You yelped.
Edmund fell into you, kissed your lips, and rued,“Alright, we’re even.”
You rolled your eyes, catching your breath.
Edmund gazed down at you, looking carefully. “Gosh, I love you.” He breathed, shifting the your hair off your face.
All at once you were both kissing again. His lips carefully traced to your jawline. Your hands wrapped into his hair.
The oven beeped, causing Edmund to pull up and take a deep breath in. “Wait, is that the brownies?”
"Wow Edmund. I see how it is.” You shook your head and shoved him. “You goob.”
