Happy Belated Birthday, @utsukushiiyume! It’s nice to meet a fellow AnS and Hakuouki fan! I hope you enjoy this crossover fluff! Thank you for being an awesome person!
Modern AU, Akagami no Shirayukihime x Hakuouki crossover
Obi glanced at his phone for the tenth time. He would have picked up Shirayuki, but work ran late so they promised to meet at the bar. He chugged his bottle of Budweiser, letting the cool bitter taste wash away his worry.
I’ll be wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. That’s bar appropriate, right?
Obi re-read the text that was sent an hour ago. It was country night and all drinks were half off if you wear the theme’s attire. Obi tapped his brown boots as he took another long sigh, pressing his back against the counter. The music was blaring and each time he glanced at the entrance more people trickled inside.
He turned around to grab the bartender’s attention, hoping to nurse another beer before Shirayuki arrived. A burly man pushed against him, crowding the counter to holler as well. Obi scowled at the rudeness, and decided that a fight this early in the night was not worth it.
“Yo! Three Buds, please!” The man shouted, a big goofy grin made its way on his face. He looked over to Obi, nodding his head and smiling at him.
“Oh, my bad. Did I just cut in front of you?” he said, with a genuine tone.
“No worries, man. You’re good.” Obi relaxed his muscles, and felt a little remorse for assuming the guy was a dickhead. His eyes fell down to the man’s necklace, the three green beads reminded him of the color of Shirayuki’s eyes.
The man must have noticed Obi’s gaze as he clutched the necklace with his big hand. “I never take this off, even when I’m fucking.” They both laugh at the man’s bluntness, the man patting Obi on the shoulder like they’re old friends. The bartender finally came, handing the man three bottles.
“My friends and I are at that side of the bar. Feel free to say hi again, dude. Name’s Shinpachi.”
“All right, Obi. Hope to see you square dancing later!” Obi had to admit Shinpachi’s smile was contagious, and he found himself smiling back at him.
He looked at his phone again, and finally noticed why his phone was practically dead--no signal. Goddamn AT&T. He vowed to switch networks as soon as he gets home.
Shirayuki has to be here, he said to himself. He scanned the dimly lit room, hoping to find the bright red hair that belonged to his girlfriend. Damn, it was packed. He moved away from the counter, snaking in and out of the dance floor.
He made his way toward the pool hall, where it was less crowded but definitely a sausage fest instead. No way she would be here. On second thought, she could be here since she would be looking for him as well. He did love a good game of pool once in a while. He made a mental note to invite Mitsuhide and Zen for a game of eight-ball sometime.
In the corner of the room, he finally saw the back of familiar bright redhead. She was bent down, like she was tying her shoes. The tight jeans made her ass plump, and Obi felt a twitch between his legs as he closed the distance between them. She was in the white t-shirt like she said, though from his angle, her back seemed elongated, like she was six feet tall instead of a petite frame. Damn trick of the lights.
Obi was feeling frisky and he pinched Shirayuki’s butt. “Babe, there you...”
It was not Shirayuki. The redhead straightened his back, and turned around.
“What the fuck? Did you just touch me?” The man with the short red hair and amber eyes pulled a fist up, ready to punch him. Before he could connect with Obi’s face, a large hand stopped him.
“Yo! What’s going on, Sano?” Shinpachi said, restraining his furious friend. He looked over to Obi, whose hands were up to block the man’s punch. “Obi?”
“I thought you were my girlfriend,” Obi explained, his tone even and calm. Holy shit, he never expected to meet anyone with red as bright as Shirayuki’s. Although at a closer look, this Sano’s was a bit darker. Damn trick of the lights.
Small arms wrapped around Sano’s shoulders, and patted him on the chest. “Three more beers and he’ll swing that way, I guarantee.”
“Shut up, Heisuke,” Sano barked, elbowing his friend. Sano took a deep sigh, his body relaxing as his two friends stepped in between him and Obi. “Seriously, what made you think I was your girlfriend?”
Obi smirked and showed him his lock screen. “Your hair.”
Sano moved his face closer, his eyes darting back and forth from the phone and behind Obi. “Dude, she looks hotter in person.” He pointed behind Obi, flashing a bright smile.
Obi turned around, rushing to hug Shirayuki. She was in a white t-shirt and jean shorts, and his hands slid down her back to grope her ass. It was not as thick as Sano’s, but it definitely felt softer in his hands.
