Going Seventeen Episodes (For MK)
Going Seventeen 2019
(Go with fan-subbed ones for 2019, not the official SVT channel, the subs are half-assed)
*** Only included the episodes that have a similar feel to 2020 & 2021
Ep 3 - 4 || Half-skit, half planning session for GOSE as a variety show instead of behind the scenes camera. Members pitch their ideas to the group.
Ep 6 - 7 || Writing and recording GOSE theme song, as well as making a music video for it entirely directed by members.
Ep 10 - 11 || SVT goes to a farm to learn about milk production. Other members learn about coffee production. Who will kill Hoshi first: The Milk crew, or the Coffee Crew?
Ep 12 - 13 || Exploring New York City during a free day on tour. Members film themselves hitting various tourist attractions and Wonwoo buys a stuffed cat that is probably demonic.
Ep 14 || MBTI typing & what it means. Seungkwan is betrayed by Beyonce personally.
Ep 15 - 16 || MBTI mannequin hidden camera prank. Members are put into a room one by one and told to fill out a questionnaire about a future GOSE camping episode. The lights go out and they come to realize (some sooner than others) that the mannequins in the room are actually people. Which members will keep their cool and which leave puddles behind?
Ep 17 - 18 || Noraebang (Karaoke) Escape Room. They have to get 100 points on a song in order to - oh... they did that immediately... After much begging from the Crew to rewrite the rules, Seventeen must solve puzzles to escape the Escape room... that they already escaped.
Ep 19 - 20 || Wonwoo No-Logic Debate Night. Seventeen are given a series of ridiculous questions with ridiculous positions each team must take and debate the other team into the ground. But there is a catch:: Any member making sound, logical arguments will be punished.
Ep 21 - 23 || TTT at the camp ground. Members are brought to a camp ground, given free reign to do whatever they want-- until Joshua eats a cursed macaroon and it turns into a series of games vs the Crew that will test just how comfortable that camp ground will be.
Ep 24 - 25 || Playground games. Seventeen unleash their inner 5 year olds (like that's hard) and play the games they loved as children, including "The Floor is Lava" and variations on Hide and Seek.
Ep 25 (end) - 26 || Woozi’s Black and White Santa Hell. Half the members are "Black Santa" sent to torment Woozi, the rest are "White Santa", meant to uplift him. If he can figure out which is which, he will win presents that may or may not contain an iPad.
Ep 27 - 28 || Planning out GOSE 2020 content (back before anyone knew everything would be locked down). Members pitch their ideas for future content and Hoshi curses out Siri.
Going Seventeen 2020
Due to his mental health problems, S.Coups was absent for the beginning chunk of GOSE 2020. Episodes he appears in are noted specially.
Ep 1 - 2 || Members eat traditional holiday foods, with a challenge on each dish ranging from bizarre utensils, ingredients, and even chew volume.
Ep 3 - 4 || Mafia Game #1 (With S.Coups) - Seventeen combine the popular Korean Mafia Game (identifying which 3 members are mafia killing off the rest) with a treasure hunt, where cold, hard cash has been hidden by the "mafia", and the real-world money prize increases as the mafia or citizens advance.
Ep 5 - 7 || Boo Seungkwan’s Past Life Destiny, members try to seduce each other to form couples and compete for absolutely nothing. With no prize but bragging rights on the table, members will put their bodies on the line to prove THEY'RE the best couple in SVT.
Ep 8 - 9 || Players with the most consistent heart rate over 3 minutes get to go home first. But this is Seventeen, so of course they try to sabotage one another by talking about them and telling embarrassing stories or outright lies to ramp up that heart rate.
Ep 10 - 11 || Academic competition to find the smartest member- and it isn't who you'd expect...
Ep 12 - 13 || Escape Room shenanegans- 4 groups of members are put into 4 different escape rooms and must solve the puzzles in order to leave. The speed each team escapes will determine their starting order for Episodes 27 & 28.
Ep 14 - 15 || Members bussed around Seoul at night to try delivery food from many places and a variety of cultures. But since they're Seventeen, they also compete to see who can come up with the dumbest explanation on the origins of each food.
Ep 16 - 17 || Human Chess, where members of SVT control one another and must compete various mini-games to decide if a chess piece is taken (S.Coups is back from now on!)
Ep 18 - 19 || Wonwoo’s No-Logic Debate Night #2- dumber questions, dumber positions to take, and more ridiculous logic-free debate from SVT.
Ep 20 || Starts as a reward for the winning team of Human Chess, quickly turns into a family-style meal with SVT members cooking for each other. That's it. No joke or strings. Just a wholesome family dinner.
Ep 21 - 22 || Mario-Kart esque shenanegans at a little 4 wheel bike track complete with force-fed bananas, squirt guns, and Jeonghan cheating.
Ep 23 - 24 || Each member is assigned a character to maintain while auditioning for Pledis. All members strapped with shock devices that go off if they laugh. S.Coups, Jeonghan, and Seungkwan are the judges.
Ep 25 - 26 || Epic game of follow-the-leader with each member taking the lead.
Ep 27 - 28 || Horror-tag in a “haunted” office building with crew acting as murderers... and locksmiths when one group breaks a door and realizes it's a little harder to break down than movies suggest (RIP Woozi's shoulder).
Ep 29 - 30 || Christmas in August is celebrated by the members dividing into 3 rooms and playing video games for a chance to leave early. The thermostat is cranked up, and members must pick the right combination of tricky choices in order to get the food and drinks they want.
Ep 31 - 33 || 9 members of Seventeen hunt through a grain storage complex to try and capture 4 hiding members born in the Year of the Rat. If they can fully drench the white circle on their stomach with dyed water, they take the Rat prisoner, but each Rat has special skills (some wholly made up) that let them get away.
Ep 34 - 35 || Half-skit, half-murder mystery. Members have characters to maintain while trying to figure out who is the murderer before the lights go off and someone is killed. In this edition, a CEO mysteriously dies and suspects have gathered for a meeting.
Ep 36 || The members are at a play park “inside” Seungkwan (who is absent). While playing and having fun, they must imitate the last emotion called out by Seungkwan, no matter what they're doing.
Ep 37 - 38 || Seventeen plays forbidden word games and the losers have to bungee jump. That's it- it's pretty simple- but a lot of fun.
Ep 39 || Awkward pauses, chaos, and a full-member confrontation with the production crew. The episode was produced last minute and doesn’t really have a theme other than “awkward”. Joshua becomes the ONLY member of Seventeen fired as a host.
Ep 40 - 41 || Mafia Game #2: Police Themed - Seventeen's mafia game/treasure hunt returns, this time in a police station where members must also find tiny handcuffs hidden throughout the building. If you're looking for the mafia game that includes Hoshi's infamous complete psychotic break- look no further! And maybe stand a safe distance away... he might bite...
Ep 42 - 43 || Members play physical games against random members of the film crew, including foot volleyball, tug of war, and bottle flipping contests. The loser has to rent a catering truck (a pledge that will go unfulfilled for a year).
Ep 44 - 45 || TTT: Alcoholism Edition. Members are taken to a large MT rental building and given wholly free reign to do whatever they want with zero limitations. With Hoshi leading the charge, they quickly get plastered and DrunkTeen is born.
Ep 46 - 47 || A member-produced photoshoot and party to celebrate the end of 2020. Members act as photographers, stylists, hair, and BooSeokSoon are in charge of a DJ Booth (And whoever thought that was a good idea was probably strangled by the members later).
Going Seventeen 2021
** With COVID restrictions easing, Jun and Minghao returned to China for a 5 month span the last bit of the year (Jun also filmed a drama). Their final episodes of GOSE are noted, though they do make little phone-in appearances afterwards.
Ep 1 - 2 || Members are again given characters and strapped with elecronic devices to shock them if they laugh. This time they must plan content for Going Seventeen 2021 and Jun draws something naughty on the whiteboard.
Ep 3 - 4 || It is 12 vs 1 as all members try to stop Jeonghan from winning a game whose rules are so confusing no one really knows what the hell is going on- just that Jeonghan cannot be allowed to win.
Ep 5 - 6 || SVT is unleashed upon an inflatable obstacle course, where they fight to sabotage each other and win nothing.
Ep 7 - 8 || A treasure hunt on a deserted island (no, really). S.Coups and Jeonghan quickly abandon the quest when they find a fully loaded BBQ lunch- but have they fallen for the crew's distraction, or did they accidentally discover the treasure early??
Ep 9 - 10 || Mafia Game #3: Hotel Themed - Once again members gather to find the money and destroy the mafia Hoshi first, not because they think he's mafia, but because of his psychotic break the last time.
Ep 11 || A series of products are set out that members must come up with weird commercials for to try and solicit advertisers for the show. The only rule is that they can't use the product for as it is actually intended to be used.
Ep 12 - 13 || A spinning wheel and a nerf gun tell the members where they are going, what missions they must complete, and if they’re allowed to laugh or not. The losing team has to stay late and give the crew their closing slate.
Ep 14 - 15 || For a day the members become rice farmers. To escape the hell of rice patty planting, they have to win games. Those winners lord it over the ones working below.
Ep 16 - 17 || Kickball match pits member against member, with sabotages including water-balls, dinosaur costumes, and scooters.
Ep 18 - 20 || TTT: Water Games Edition. Members are taken to a lake for their 2021 trip to wakeboard, tube, and play other games. Less drinking than 2020, but they'll get there eventually!
Ep 21 - 22 || Wonwoo’s No-Logic Debate Night #3 - This time the teams change per question, as members fight to take ridiculous positions on ridiculous questions and all logic is strictly prohibited.
Ep 23 - 24 || Seungkwan acts as host to re-create old game shows. It's Team Tiger vs Team Camel (Hoshi vs S.Coups) for Screaming in Silence, charades, and other games.
Ep 25 - 26 || A stock-themed tag game throughout an empty office complex. Some members have + values, some - , whichever team wins the most points after 3 rounds (or bribes the crew best) wins. ** These are the last episodes with Jun and Minghao for the season.
Ep 27 - 28 || Members are put in an abandoned building in groups of 2, with the building done up to look like some form of mad scientist lair. A horror escape room, basically, done in teams of 2. As teams are killed, they can leave behind a single photo and sentence as clues to the next in line.
Ep 29 - 30 || Once again members are strapped to heart monitors as they pretend to sleep through other members sharing embarrassing stories. This time SVT competes against the crew- if the crew win any of the rounds, that group of them can leave (Camera, Audio, or Lighting), and SVT must fend for themselves.
Ep 31 - 32 || School games including red light, green light, desktop tennis, and more.
Ep 33 - 35 || As punishment for relaxing during the Treasure Hunt (eps 7 & 8), Jeonghan and S.Coups must run a restaurant and feed the members of SVT. They can recruit 2 to be their kitchen helpers.
Special Episode || SVT watches clips from past GOSE episodes (2019 - 2021) and recount their memories of shooting those episodes or scenes. They also talk about which ones they'd like to do a sequel to.
Going Seventeen 2022
*** For some reason, GOSE 2022 continued the episode numbers from 2021 rather than start from #1 again.
Ep 36 - 37 || Members must individually come up with their version of "The best way to eat white rice", including skits, stunts, and homecooked meals. Note: The rice used in this episode was harvested from the field members planted in GOSE 2021 Ep 14 & 15.
Ep 38 - 39 || Members warm up and eventually have a competition where they race in teams of 2 to push cars in neutral gear along a deserted road as quickly as they can.
Ep 40 - 41 || A day in the quiet life of “Mr Seventeen” (each member individually acting out 20 minutes of ‘down time’ while the others give commentary from a nearby room).
Ep 42 - 43 || At long last, Jun and The8 have returned from China to join SVT for bowling while adjusting their emotions to whatever the last one called out was. A sequel to GOSE 2020 ep 36.
Ep 44 - 46 || Members duke it out in a triathlon of gaming. Three games, four teams, one prize of 3,000,000 won (roughly $2,400).
Ep 47 - 48 || The Idiot Olympics- Seventeen compete at several outdoor track games, but with a catch: only the person who comes in second place overall wins. Members are given a secret mission to make Wen Junhui the winner- but if he figures it out, the others don’t get any prizes.
SPECIAL || SVT members demonstrate short form games of Don’t Lie, Debate Night, and Insomnia Zero with the host of youtube talk show MMTG, whom they partnered with for altogether three episodes (only one of which is considered a Going Seventeen episode).
Ep 49 - 50 || Three pods of members, three separate format radio shows. While Mingyu leads an advice session, S.Coups leads a bitch-about-members session, and the Rocket Duo (Joshua and Vernon) teach English to Dino and Jeonghan.
Ep 51 - 52 || Revisiting 2019 Ep 14, the members take various personality tests to see exactly what’s wrong with them how things may have changed from the past to now.
Ep 52 - 53 || The members separate into two teams for a hybrid form of Hidden Objects meets Hide and Seek. All beware Hoshi on the prowl...
Ep 54 - 55 || Documentary filmmaker Wonwoo wanders around a bizarre Korean village filled with wannabe celebrities, aliens who shake armpits (as well as the human subtly hunting them), and other strange characters as Seventeen live out an hours-long sketch of their own design.
Ep 56 - 57 || Christmas in August returns, with members grouped into four rooms to play horror-themed video games. ** Nervous viewers do not need to worry, they show members faces during jump scares, not the scary bits themselves.
Ep 58 - 59 || In a hybrid mix of some previous content (2021 3 & 4, 2021 25 & 26), Seventeen are each given 10,000,000 won and told to bid on art. Whoever has the most assets at the end of the game wins. Cue bargaining and betrayals as members team up to claim the prize.
Ep 60 - 61 || The members do parodies of visual radio broadcasts. Mingyu's group gives advice (and drives him insane), S.Coups' crew plays "Would You Rather" (which quickly devolves into a Member vs Member bad habits competition), and Joshua & Vernon attempt to teach Dino and Jeonghan English.
Ep 62 - 64 || In a sequel to GOSE 2020 34 & 35, members are once again thrust into a murder mystery, where they have to catch the culprit before the lights go out and members begin to die off.
Special Episode || A sequel to GOSE 2021 ep 31 & 32. The members descend on a school playground to play childhood games, including a new take on dodgeball, where members can survive being hit if they strike a pose fast enough.
Love Lost #10
I always had you on a pedestal,
I always admired you.
Perhaps that's why
You never saw me fit
To keep as a permanent friend.
Two faces of a coin,
Always attached
But never seeing
The other side.
Musings #11
I don’t understand why people change who they are only to be more unhappy.
starting to cry a little now that graduation is over with
leaving my bachelors behind, heading towards masters, but more importantly i won’t be right across from so many people that I already miss
i may not enjoy how a lot of the staff and higher ups act, but the professors and the ones who care, the campus and the asshole geese... they will be deeply missed
