“You really thought I was dead?” Adagio smirked, arching her brow and tilting her chin downward. “Please, it’ll take more than your little light show at the battle of the bands to stop me.”
Sunset rubbed at her arms and pulled her knees closer to her chest. She’d spent the first night— the real first night—of the Starswirl music festival on this hilltop before, but Sunset hadn’t anticipated the change in winds, or just how cold the valley could be with a draft blowing through it. She blew out a shuddering breath.
The older woman rolled her eyes and slipped the jacket from her shoulders to wrap it around Sunset’s. “You’re a child, honestly. Learn to dress for the weather.”
“I did-” Sunset pouted and narrowed her eyebrows before giving a small sigh. “But, anyway... I guess you’re right. It was just something that always played on my mind from time to time. I’m actually really glad to see you and the girls are doing well for yourselves.”
“Hmph!” Adagio hummed proudly, pressing her knuckles to her hips and puffing our her chest with a grin. “Of course! Magic may have made the whole thing easier, but we have ways of getting what we want.”
Sunset’s lips drew into a firm line and she gripped the material of Adagio’s jacket tightly, drawing it around herself more. “Do you mean se-”
Adagio’s brows snarled. “Absolutely not!”
“Sorry! Sorry!” Sunset fumbled, face flushing as she waved her hands in defence. “It was just how you phrased it- why did you emphasise it like that-”
Adagio pinched the bridge of her nose with an irritated grunt. “Did you want something? Or did you just take me out here to insult me? Because we’re alone out here, and I do know how to make your death look like an accident.”
“I, uh-” Sunset rubbed the back of her neck, “I don’t doubt it.” She dropped her eyes and wrapped her arms around her legs, intertwining her fingers and twiddling her thumbs just below the knee. “But, uh. I just wanted to spend time with you, I guess. I thought that since you weren’t trying to take over the world anymore, it might be a good idea to-”
“-to make friends?” Adagio snorted, “you really are naïve. Or maybe just stupid.”
Sunset frowned and clicked her tongue. She shot a glance over Adagio’s way only to see the other girl flexing out her arms and lying back against the grass of the hill, her eyes closed as she interlocked her fingers behind her head.
“If I’m so stupid then why did you come with me?”
Adagio hummed for a moment. “I’m here for the view. Always thought Sunset’s were pretty.”
Ok so I just find you and I gotta say, your artstyle is amazing, so adorable and the use of colours is tip-top! ^^
