#forced dancing

So there's this thing (Mostly in animated shows) when the villain grabs the hero and forces them into a dance, and it's always very fun to watch, 'cause, you know, power dynamic + musical number might be the best combination out there, but something I really want to see is a scene like that when the HERO is leading the dance.

Now, I don't mean the hero is forcing the villain to dance (though that will also be an awesome execution of this trope and would be very cool) but rather the villain forcing the hero to lead the dance they are forced into.

I'm not sure if this is very clear, here's the best example of this that I know (from Princess Tutu):

So basically, in this scene, Krehe forces heart-shard Mytho to dance with her, but HE is the one leading the dance, not her. I just think this is really cool.

Now, Mytho is very passive in this scene, but I would really like to see an execution of this kind of thing when the hero - the leader of the dance - is trying to resist. But they can't. They are forced into this dance, forced into a position of power they have no power over.

I don't know. I really want this kind of dynamic. It's like- I don't know, a character that WANTS to be controlled. Like forcing someone to be your king. It's- I don't know how to explain it. It's cool.

In the Moment

"What's talking them so long?" Caretaker was nervously looking at the time on their phone. They were starting to get worried. Whumpee should have arrived at the party by now.

"Waiting for someone?" Whumper had approached Caretaker from behind without them noticing.

Caretaker turned around and looked at Whumper with wide eyes, speechlessly. They knew Whumper. Not well, but they knew Whumpee didn't like them. Knew what they did to their friend.

Before Caretaker could respond Whumper reacted to the music changing in the background with a smile. "Oh, isn't that Whumpees favorite song? A shame they they're not here yet."

Caretaker assumed the worst. "What did you do to them?"

"Nothing... yet. How about we dance to pass the time while we wait?"

Before Caretaker had the chance to react Whumper had already grabbed them by the wrist and started dragging them towards the dance floor. "Let me go!" They tried to pull away.

Whumper only pulled them closer. "Play along now. We don't want anyone to get hurt, now do we?"

Whumper started moving along to the sound of the music dragging Caretaker along with them who was too afraid to fight back afraid of what Whumper might do to them if they tried or worse what they might do to Whumpee. As the two of them kept dancing along to the music they drew more and attention to themselves until pretty much everyone at the party was looking at them.

As the song started to get to an end Whumper decided on a move for the grand finale. They pulled Caretaker in close and in awe of everyone present forced a long drawn out kiss on Caretakers lips.

Whumpee had just arrived at the party. Their bike had broken down on the way there and they had to walk the rest of the way. They were worried Caretaker would be mad at them for being late so they hurried to find them. As they moved past the other party attendees they could make out murmurs about Caretakers activities on the dance floor with..

..Whumper!?

What was going on? Whumpee rushed to the dance floor as fast as they could. Only to arrive just in time to see Caretaker, their best friend who was there for them in their darkest times and whomst they would blindly trust with their life, embracing and 'passionately' making out with Whumper, their worst nightmare who had tormented them for all those years. Whumpee could barely hold back their tears. How could Caretaker do this to them? Why would Caretaker do this to them?

When Whumper finally let go of Caretaker Whumpee had already left.

Whump Drabble #18

The music snaked throughout the room, the crackling of the old phonograph with it. Whumpee and Whumper stood in the middle do the room, one shaking and near tears, the other humming along to the orchestral music with a soft smile on their face.

As the song came to a close and a slower, softer one began, Whumper held out a hand to Whumpee. "May I have this dance?" They both knew it wasn't a question.

Whumpee flinched back before hesitantly putting their hand in Whumper's, who not-very-gently pulled them close. Their bodies pressed against each other, Whumper savoring the touch, Whumpee waiting for the pain to start.

"I- I don't know how to dance," Whumpee murmured in a low, hoarse voice.

Whumper laughed, raising a hand to pet Whumpee's hair softly. "Neither do I. That's half the fun." They spun around in a small circle, Whumper leading. The pace began picking up, and Whumpee struggled to keep up.

As the music raced, they stumbled and accidentally stepped on Whumper's foot, both of them freezing immediately. They stared up at them in terror.

"I'm so sorry!" They cried. "I didn't mean to, I- I swear! I'm sorry!" They squeezed their eyes shut, waiting for the fists - or worse - to come hurdling towards them and flinched back when a hand grabbed their chin not ungently and tilted their head up.

"Look at me," came Whumper's calm voice and Whumpee had no choice but to obey. They opened their eyes and caught Whumper's face staring impassively down at them. They were sobbing freely now, terrified of what their punishment would be.

What they weren't expecting, however, was for Whumper to draw them closer to them in a soft grip and murmur, "It's okay. I'm not mad. It was an accident." They smiled down at Whumpee, their Whumpee, so beautifully broken for them.

Forced Dancing || Chloe and Will

Will had thought that after the disaster of the haunted house Chloe wouldn't talk to him again. Apparently she was a very forgiving person. Somehow she had found out that he never played Just Dance, now he "had to" play it. He was happy to be hanging out with her again despite the whole dancing in front of her part. After convincing himself that he had to do it he made his way over to her house. Although him and Chloe weren't close, he'd been to her house a number of times. Their parents were old friends so it was unavoidable. Once he arrived he knocked on the door and waited for her to come to the door. Hopefully it would be her and not her mom. Her mom had teased Will his whole life. Knowing her, she probably could sense his weaknesses. He took a deep breath and prepared himself for a lifetime of embarrassment.
