For those unsure why dysphoria would play a role in kink: fantasy is a great way to test out feeling certain emotions in a safe and controlled setting. Some people like testing out feeling very negative emotions for the adrenaline rush. Some people feel a sense of power over being able to control their own negative emotions and gain sexual satisfaction from them. Others may be really into the story & acting aspect of roleplaying, and emotional conflict makes for a more exciting story to act out. It's important not to immediately jump to malicious conclusions about others!
