17 weeks old My Maxine is one strong little lady. She had surgical procedures done in 5 different places. Nose, Lip, Gums, Palate, and Ears (tubes). The first day was really hard. She was whimpering and crying in pain the whole day. But less than 24 hours after her surgery, she smiled at us. She was talking to the screen that monitored her vitals. Less than 36 hours after surgery, she was giving me kisses (as I quickly ducked to only kiss the corner of her mouth so I didn't hurt her). And today, less than 48 hours after surgery, she sat and smiled for her weekly photo. It's still really hard. She still hates eating, and still cries because she is in pain. Her little voice is hoarse from the crying. But I can't blame her. I wouldn't want to put anything in my mouth if I just had surgery on it. And she still has several more surgeries over the coming years. Nothing hurts more than seeing my baby in pain.
