As little as Deshi and Aaralyn seemed to get along, they still ended up hanging out. It usually started with the Kitsune finding her stealing from someone and just making comments. More often than not he’d end up buying her something to eat just so he could keep an eye on her. There was no reason for him to do it yet it continued to happen.

This time he found her at night and they ended up hanging out on a park bench passing a bottle of liquor between them. At first, it was just them asking random questions and somehow ended up as truth or dare. There was little that Deshi wouldn't do as a dare and he had to admit that it was more fun than he had expected.

It was her turn to dare him and she had dared him to hold a handstand for five minutes. It was definitely a mistake on her part since with all of his daily training his record had been 30 minutes and the only reason he stopped was that he couldn't control the blood rushing to his head for longer. As a River Kitsune, he had learned how to control his blood flow which came in handy with his career.

The only downside was that his scar was on full display but the alcohol was making him not care as long as it wasn't directly facing her. "You're going to have to come up with a better one next time. I don't think you can even do a handstand, Lyn."

It was hard not to feel slightly paranoid about a statement like that. Still, Amelia tried to not let it show too much on her face. “...Okay. What do we do to stop it?” she asked directly.

Ohh, that’s a hard one. Deshi can pretty much go anywhere he wants especially with his job.

If we’re talking locations, I guess the one place he technically can’t go (because of trauma) would be the beach. He’d love to go again.

If we are talking about past, he’d go back to the day him and Kira came into their powers to make sure that it never happened.

The world froze around Deshi. He wasn’t sure whether he was breathing or not, everything was fading into the background. Kira didn’t make it. It wasn’t possible. It just couldn’t be true. He had just gotten his sister back, how could she be gone already? In the middle of the fight, there was a sharp pain that coursed through his soul but he refused to acknowledge it. Now he knew the reason. She can’t be gone. Kira CAN’T be gone.

I’m sorry... Kira didn’t make it.

His legs gave out beneath him, falling to his knees harshly. His eyes were glazed over as he lost himself in the grief. He searched inside of him for the warm connection he had with his sister, pawing in every part of him only to come out empty.

“N-N-No. Sh-She’s fine. She’s fine. Tell her-tell her not to pull this shit on me. She-She’s not-” Warm tears started to stream down his face, his breathing picking up pace as he started to realize that his sister was gone. He fell on all fours, his stomach twisting with grief and fear as he fought the bile that threatened to escape.

His entire body shook, gasping cries ripped from his chest. Kira didn’t make it. Snapping his eyes shut, he threw his head back as he let out a roar at the skies above him. The air around thickened and snapped sharply. There were sounds of destruction around him but he heard nothing. There was no reason for him to be anything anymore. Why couldn’t they have taken him instead of Kira? He deserved it. She didn’t.
