View through pleached trees, I believe they are Hornbeams, leading up to the manor house at The Courts Garden located in Holt, England. I love everything about this scene: the artfully pruned trees, the beautiful, irregular stone pavement, and, of course, the glimpse that you get of the gorgeous manor house. You can't help but wanting to speed up your pace so that can see the house fully revealed! So smart, how this garden design creates such an excitement in the visitor. Now, I know this type of formal garden design is not for everyone and usually divides people in their reactions. Some love it, others can't stand it. How about you?
