introducing: FORMIC ACID AND FORMATE!
formic acid (left)'s design is based on formica rufa, also known as the red wood ant. this species of ant is capable of spraying formic acid long distances through a hole on the tip of its abdomen known as an acidopore. he also has two pairs of hands and one pair of legs (if they're drawn) because, of course, ants have three pairs of limbs (and antennae, too). unlike ants, though, he doesn't have any ocelli (simple eyes) or complex/compound eyes, and just has two regular eyes
he carries a hydron (the white sphere with a plus on it) around and juggles it like a little ball, throwing it between his hands and balancing it on his abdomen (like in the left drawing). when he loses it, he becomes deprotonated and negatively charged, becoming formate (right). if another element catto grabs his hydron, that catto will become protonated
i worked way too hard on this lol
COMPOUND ANTO!!!!! I LOVE HIM
if the hydron is just a proton I think it would be more of a little ionized Hydrogen head, check the #hydrogen tag on this blog to see what hydrogen ions look like
but regardless i love this buge....... i like the idea of compound cattos containing hydrons just having them as little companions too :3
