New hydrogen breakthrough turns waste heat into clean fuel

A newly developed catalyst could slash the cost and temperature requirements of hydrogen production, opening the door to cleaner, locally generated fuel.

Researchers at the University of Birmingham have developed a new low-temperature approach to hydrogen production that could make the clean fuel cheaper and more practical to generate. The technique could be used both in large centralized facilities and in smaller local systems that take advantage of waste heat from major industrial operations. Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe and is widely viewed as an important clean energy source. When used as a fuel, it produces only water and heat rather than carbon dioxide and other pollutants associated with fossil fuels. Hydrogen can also power fuel cells that generate electricity. Despite these advantages, around 95% of hydrogen production today still depends on fossil fuels.

Kaimetsu's Cursed Objects:

•50 vials of Baneful Blood of Kaimetsu

(All vials have the same volume measurements to a modern day insulin bottle, discovered vials will be wrapped in ancient talisman seals and stored away in small wooden boxes. Only 9 were found by the Shinigami Shugosha Society. For now. 41 vials are left, they are scattered across the world, not only in Japan though it has the most predominant amount of vials than any other place worldwide.)

•20 Fiendish Fingers of Kaimetsu

(Inspired by Ryomen Sukuna, only 5 have been found by the Shinigami Shugosha Society, but Zenjiro has already eaten 3 in the beginning, so now they presently have 2 now. Each uncovered finger is packaged just like the discovered vials by the Shinigami Shugosha Society.)

•The Six Eradicating Eyes of Kaimetsu

(Kaimetsu has exactly 3 pairs of eyes, his main/middle eyes have the two Kanjis from Ancient Japan that are identifications for “Complete Destruction” / “kaimetsu” the word of which was given to him when he first had “manifested” and made his manifestation known, the Kanjis are centered at the pupils of his irises. The Kanjis for “Extinction” / “zetsumetsu” are labeled at the pupils of his upper eyes/the pair of eyes above his main, and finally his lower eyes have the combined Kanjis of “akujutsu” / “Evil Spell/Technique”--The eyes have been crystalized and resemble marbles/large beads, they can fit in the palm of an average man, to show the scale–they cannot be manipulated into a smaller size, since their shell is fragile if attempted to be tampered with jutsu, they will crack and probably explode–releasing all of the potent malevolence stored inside them out, attracting Yokai across a 200-300 meter radius.)

•The 10 Hazardous Hearts of Kaimetsu

(Though, Kaimetsu has no internal organs nor any skeletal structure, he formed 10 massive hearts which can fit in the entirety of a man’s palm who is over 6 feet [Between the height of 6 '5 & 6' 10!] He has stored his magic inside these hearts like poaches, all hidden deeply in the demolished & Oni/Shinigami infested Temples of Tyranny around the oldest and most remote places of Japan. The Temples of Tyranny were ruled with an iron fist by Kaimetsu during his prime, but after his falter, hordes & infestations of Yokai–especially Oni & Shinigami–surrond the numbers of ruins in search for at least one powerful heart of the Sovereign of all Shinigami.)

Just White Prophet and Catalyst things

I think this is the first time we see Beloved actually look through the web of futures, just checking to see. I wonder if looking without getting lost is a he learned during their time apart, or if they have simply grown close enough now that Beloved will allow Fitz to see.

The catalysts

Claire and Shapiro play the same role in the Sydcarmy dynamic.

Showing them by contrast who they really wanna be with.

In other words: Trigger them. Be catalysts of change. This can obviously take many forms, but they will all end up having the same final result. Help the characters see what needs to change and then, they will use their own free wills to make those changes or not.

Whilst for Carmy Claire is the “healer” 👩‍⚕️ (no wonder she’s a Dr.) that is supposed to remind him how to love and be loved, or better yet, how to re-signify trauma so it doesn’t limit him anymore. More about her here 🔗

Shapiro, on the other hand, is the “wild card” 🃏for Syd.

Let me explain: A wild card “substitutes” any other card in the deck and you can use it (or not) as you please. And if you do choose to use it, gives you an opportunity to change the game, not necessarily winning it, but alter that hand. You have to use it wisely and in some hands is preferably not to use it at all actually, because you may end up wasting chances or getting over confident, etc. The joker is not by any means a guarantee of victory but a resource to be used when we are not dealt a good hand and it entails its risks. It can cause more harm than good. Or not. It’s a wild card. You never know…

The catch is that Shapiro can’t substitute The Bear for obvious reasons, I won’t even go there and Claire can’t fix/heal someone whose trauma is precisely triggered by her.

Why do you think that Carmy hit rock bottom while dating her and right after their breakup? The guy is raw, his wound is open.

So, Syd and Carmy, once their respective catalysts have served their catalystic purposes have to do the rest of the hard work. Make a choice, compromise, stick to it and face the consequences of such choice. This requires free will, hence: The “options” so they can exercise it, time and courage. Only in that way the change will come for both of them. It's a classic redemption arc.

What change will come? We don’t know yet. Yes we do ❤️

Bonus track: Luca, the bringer of light, is Carmy’s HEALED version. He was able to resignify his trauma already.

Luca is another catalyst for Syd that is supposed to shed light on what she truly wants and who she wants it from, the difference between Shapiro's role and Luca's is that Luca is a limited offer whereas Shapiro is offering her FOREVER (or at least unlimited).

I'd also dare to bet that with Luca there's a potential attraction there and with Shapiro, it's all business. In her case it's split. She can't find all she wants in just one guy. Except...

We all know who combines both for Syd and she's beginning to realize that too.
