Apple & Berry Galette (Sweet & Delicious Autumn Dessert)

njoy this gorgeous Apple-Berry Galette with Butter Crust as a dessert or teatime treat. This rustic style of pie is so delicious and perfect for the autumn weather :) Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for most comforting and delicious dessert :)

Apple Berry Galette: Serving 2-4 

213 gm plain flour ( 1 1/2 cups)

142.5 gm cold butter/margarine ( 10 tablespoons)

1/4 teaspoon salt 

4 teaspoon sugar 

4-5 tablespoon water

Filling: 

1 red apple sliced thickly 

50 gm  blueberries (1/2 cup) 

50gm raspberries (1/2 cup) 

100 gm sugar (1/2 cup) 

1 egg yolk lightly whisked 

Vanilla ice cream to serve 

Method:

 In food processor, pulse flour, sugar, and salt until combined. Add butter and pulse until only pea-sized pieces of butter remain. Working 1 Tbsp at a time, add water, pulsing after each addition, until dough holds together between your fingers. 

Knead for 1 mins, cover & refrigerate for 1 hour. In large bowl, toss all filling ingredients together until combined. 

Mound onto center of rolled pastry, leaving 3 to 4 inch gap around the outside. Fold pastry edges up around filling (it should look very rustic). Brush with egg wash for a shiny coating.

 Bake 50-55 minutes or the crust turns golden brown. Transfer the galette onto a wire rack to cool. Slice & serve with ice cream. :)
