Wanted to take the chance to show off my little fossil collection, sooo... 🤲 @fivewholeminutes
Photos 1, 2 and 3 are all ammonites that I've found, minus the shined and cleaned one. While absolutely tiny, my favourite is the third; it's a (not brilliant) example of when fossils are replaced with iron pyrite (fool's gold), making a veryyyy pretty little cast. They're very rare, and I ended up finding that one by just aimlessly shifting through the sand for some sea glass. I was extremely happy lmao.
4, 5 and 6 are all fossilised coral! They look like lace to me, and I love the shear amount of detail on them, so of course I nabbed a few.
7 has my 55 million year old sardine (not actually. I believe it's a Knightia Alta), my beloved trilobite, a fossilised sand dollar and some more shells :] I love that fish a lot; again another 'this is so cool and detailed. I need to obtain'. The fact that the ribcase is still visible, along with its fins is amazing to me.
9 is my growing collection of shark teeth + two crab claws, notibly my Mosasaur tooth and Megladon tooth!
Finally, the prize of my collection is my hunk of fossilised wood. It's about 225 million years old and I adore it.
