This is a skeletal diagram for a fossil specimen of an extinct species of magnaceratid, dubbed

Mallebrachis altirhynchus

This species was once believed to have had club like forearms, which was because erythran paleontologists mistook the thigh bone of this animal for its upper claw arm hand bone (yes that is confusing but there is no terminology for alien bones yet) and its forearm bone for its thigh bone. It was strange because it had relatively small arms, comparatively thick ribs and osteoderms which suggests either heavy predation or heavy intraspecific combat.

It was from the Kori mangrove bloodclay formation, an environment that today is a large mangrove with small sandy and clayish islands spread out across. This environment is strange because it seems to have been a swampland but there is evidence of spire civilization which is strange since there aren’t any swamp dwelling spires today. Another strange thing is that there are fossils of a large aquatic animal which couldn’t have possibly have swam in shallow waters. This raises up many more questions, such as: how did the Kori mangrove beast get in there?
