We may come into parenthood with all sorts of expectations. ⁣ “𝘔𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵...” ⁣ However, if you are 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮, you don’t know their history. You don’t know how that behavior was necessary to simply survive. ⁣ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 and can prevent emotional growth. A child may be a certain age chronologically, but emotionally be much younger. ⁣ A child having a meltdown, in that moment, is a toddler emotionally.
