🌷 #FoundSpring #ShareYourWeather #MyOttawa #OttCity . Today was #day51 of #socialdistancing. The despondency I felt this week compelled me to break out the monotony of apartment life and the slow spring of the swamplands where I walk. Despite it being a beautiful day, I left my apartment reluctantly -- feeling tired and not really up for the challenge these strange times pose when exploring #Ottawa. And despite having to park precariously on the side of a road because all the access parking is closed off -- I found the pathways to be way too busy to safely socially distance -- people on bikes -- some picnicing -- including people in wheelchairs and walkers. The spring flowers are just starting to bloom so I suspect as the weather continues to warm -- there will be a lot more people out. I found that stressful so I was happy to come back and #staysafestayhome. Few people understand the concept of social distance. I was particularly annoyed by an iPad photographer who kept finding her way into my shots. In the end, my outing was not the stress reliever that I hoped. . I am not considered to be an essential worker -- but I work with people who are. All non-essential staff work from home to protect them. This week when discussing the long term outlook we were told it is unlikely that we will be returning until there is a vaccine. It is a daunting prospect to think that we'll be doing this for a year or more? There is a modulating effect that you get when you are around people that you completely miss when you are home alone day after day ... after day ... _____ “The great affair, the love affair with life, is to live as variously as possible, to groom one’s curiosity like a high-spirited thoroughbred, climb aboard, and gallop over the thick, sun-struck hills every day. Where there is no risk, the emotional terrain is flat and unyielding, and, despite all its dimensions, valleys, pinnacles, and detours, life will seem to have none of its magnificent geography, only a length. It began in mystery, and it will end in mystery, but what a savage and beautiful country lies in between.” —Diane Ackerman #springflowers #flowerphoto #flowers #flowersofinstagram #YOW (at Canadian Tulip Festival - Festival canadien des tulipes) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_v0BTbpWcz/?igshid=y9zls7dchqp8
