Trixx the Fox, Kwami of Deception

It's Trixx!! Probably one of my favorite kwamis, right up there with Plagg. I just love them so much. No real big changes in their design overall, besides making it more stylized to how I draw, especially on their ears. And of course adding a plenty of fluff and a nose, as all kwamis deserve. I have also changed their concept from Illusion to Deception, as I just like them having a bit more broad of a concept to embody, along with granting the Fox another power to be Deceptive with the words they speak.

Hi I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about all of you fox!ninos?

Fox!Nino! 🧡

So I have two Fox!Ninos, Silver Paw and Foxglove. Silver Paw is exclusive to my Withered Wings fic, while Foxglove is for any other AUs (most notably Crimson and Noire). I could also see Silver Paw acting as a "Rena Furtive" version of Foxglove, though I don't have any plans for such in any upcoming fics.

Their costumes are pretty similar, with them both having a long coat with a fox ear hood and a fox-tail tailcoat, and black boots and gloves. Silver Paw's costume is dark gray and Foxglove's is rust red, both highlighted with black and white. C&N Foxglove has goggles but I usually imagine Fox!Nino with a mask.

Silver Paw is an angsty boy from an angsty fic. He stole the Fox Miraculous straight from Marinette, and while he does feel guilty he doesn't have many regrets with taking up the role as an antihero in the eyes of the city. He's more than willing to prioritize protecting his boyfriend (Hawk Moth's son and ally) rather than taking them down, and would do anything for Adrien. His goal in life is to punch Hawk Moth (again), and has walked away with a nasty scar from the man. He has a really good bond with Trixx, who helps him bear all the secrets he's forced to carry. Silver Paw is not a good match power-wise for Trixx, and naturally works better with other Miraculouses, so he had to work very hard to fully utilize the power of Deception.

Foxglove has things easier. He's a temporary hero and the first in his AU to learn about what the Miraculouses truly are aside from the Guardians/heroes. Unfortunately keeping these secrets isn't easy for him, and he can get pretty nervous when is girlfriend Alya brings up the topic of heroes because of this. While he still naturally opposes Trixx's concept of Deception this is not a limitation for him in this AU, and is actually one of the reasons he was chosen to be a Fox, to balance out these powers. Foxglove is heavily reliant on playing the flute to manipulate the illusions he creates. He's a bit wary of Trixx, due to the limited time he's had with the Fox, and Trixx's decision to introduce themselves by declaring they would eat Nino's soul.

Overall the reason I love the idea of Fox!Nino is for the Nino and Trixx interactions. I just think these two are very adorable together and would have such a good bond. The little Fox would enjoy teasing Nino a bit too much, and would be very protective of his Kit.

Rating Miraculouses: Fox.

Jewel: orange fox tail pendant with gold accents. Very pretty, stilish, foxy, nice colors but terrible countdown (the sections becoming completely black? Clashes a lot). That ruins it, and I hate it because this is my favorite jewel. So a 8/10.

Color: bright orange. Representative of red foxes so it fits. White accents which fit too. 10/10 very good looking.

Sub: yellow, which they don't really use that much, and it isn't that good of a contrast. 6/10. Could be better.

Symbol: orange fox tail. Simple and representative enough of foxes. However sometimes it appears with the divisions and the fading to white, and sometimes it is plain orange. 8/10 because of inconsistency and because the divided version looks kinda bland.

Concept: illusion. Based on kitsunes, Japanese mythological foxes that created illusions. Overall, foxes are associated with trickery and cunning, so this fits. 10/10.

Kwami: Trixx. Didn't see a lot of him but he seems kinda manipulative (Sapotis) and cheerful. Orange with tail, ears, white and black sections, looks super cute. 9/10 has purple eyes which I don't understand.

Power: Mirage. Summons an illusion. Very bold representation of the illusion concept. Versatile, fun, requires cunning and strategy, hard to use effectively. One of my favorites. Downside: not a nice aesthetic and Rena always plays the same song, which Volpina didn't do. Also kinda limited, just one illusion is lame. 9/10 very foxy but wasted potential there.

Weapon: flute. Makes sense considering kitsunes summoned light through their mouths and flutes do need your mouth, and this is a reed pipe, which has associations to lying. We can consider it foxy but we can't consider it useful. Not communucation, not transport, barely defensive and weirdly used as a weapon. 6/10 WASTED POTENTIAL.

Overall: nice Miraculous with not so nice aesthetic, lots of wasted opportunities. Still one of my favorites because I loved Volpina. 8.25/10, some minor tweaks and it becomes perfect to me. I really love foxes. Volpina portrays foxes better than Rena, tho. Alya deserves better.
